Any problems with last Win 10 update?

My PC is in the middle of an update now, so I can't do much about it, but I read that the latest update had some glitches. Anyone experienced that?

I updated 6 of my mini PC's (bit of a hobby) end of last

week and no problems, but I see some people are saying

they have had problems, seems every update Microsoft

makes gives someone problems.

Oh !, and I see on the Pc using now there is another update

KB4540673,  so maybe a fix for the update people had problem

with, so I will delay that one.

I had a good working Win10 new Lenovo desk computer until a major update a few months ago.

That update made my Google Chrome and Opera browsers crash every few minutes for longish periods.

Since then successive updates have progressively diminished the frequency of crashes to leave only the occasional "not responding" freeze followed with black screen.

Situation acceptable now but not perfect.

All three of my Lenovo laptops updated a few hours ago to the 10 Mar 2020 updates....all three working fine what little I've played with them since this morning's update....haven't noticed/experienced any problems (knock on wood--my head).  The laptops range in age from around 5 years old to around 4 months old.

 

The laptops also worked fine "before" today's update...worked fine with those previous updates that was giving some people minor to major problems.  Yeap....knock on wood.

Having problems with this update KB4540673 , not the one before, several times done this update , resulting  by restarting the blue screen from Microsoft ,resulting M$ repairs it themselves to former update , occasional bios screen shows message: " can not read ROM image" …, by selecting exit >and all restarts a new repaired by Windows .

So could be this update is not compatible with some Software or drivers , may not be so for everybody , I tried at least 3 times ,but no problem on my Asus , problem only on Chuwi UBook pro 8gb Intel Core m3-8100Y

Both, the desktop and the notebook applied updates two days ago and all went fine.

 

   Unfortunately, did the program ask me when to do a restart, but when I postponed it, it restarted from alone.

 

  All working well, takes a bit. It's one of these bigger ones where a restart at 30 % is done. The other 70 % go faster.

somehow the windows  lockscreen settings had been changed by the  update, i always had it turned off but  now it  locks after a minute or so of inactivity, i went and turned it  off and also edited the registry to stop it turning back on as the "turning off" part failed to stop it.

Do delay this update, but only for a few of your mini PC's.

So then that will give you something to compare.

I did an update last night and everything seems ok at the moment but I do not trust Microsoft because late last year they did an update and it did that many changes on my computer it was unworkable so I did a factory reset and had to re-install a lot of my things. I use chrome as a browser and it changed everything that it blocked me from using chrome and the only browser I could use was edge. Even now when I turn my laptop on the opening screens have all been changed to some rubbish the Microsoft put on my laptop.

Older updates deleted all system restore points. It seems that they've got this solved now.

I read the problem was with KB4535996 and my PC says I'm up to date with KB4537572 the last update and KB4535996 listed below as an optional update? I decided not to install the optional but why is it shown at all if its giving issues?

in last resort make anyway a system image from a good working system moment, you could miss some latest things , but your Machine shall work again in good order

Any updates showing as optional are "non-security updates" such as drivers, features updates, and monthly non-security updates.  And quite often some to all of these non-security optional updates will be integrated into later security updates...maybe even the next month's/Patch Tuesday release.   Personally, I always install the optional updates also when first offered.

No problems on 2 computers. I think a lot has to do with how old a computer is and what specs. The better the specs the less problems.

Microsoft just released the patch that it almost released on Tuesday. It’s the SMBv3 patch that’s set the security community on fire.

KB 4551762, which fixes CVE-2020-0796 is a regular, old-fashioned Win10 cumulative update, but it’s only made for Win10 1903, 1909, Server  1903 Core and Server 1909 Core. (I still have no idea why only Server Core versions are affected.)

Better to use Macrium, a free program for personal use and create a full image.

 

   Better than a Restore Point.

So many good ones available , I just use the one from Windows self , as I am used to handle it from Win 7 on already , and still available in Win 10.

Had an automatic download from Windows 2 days ago.

 

    Now my MSM page has been enlarged, and I seem to get many spelling mistakes, due to letters not always printing. Don't think its my keyboard.

   It would seem every time Windows updates something goes wrong. Why can't them plonkers at Microsoft just leave things alone

I have a brand new Lenovo All-in-One desktop with a true Windows 10 OS. I had no problems until the last few updates, but now I am having problems on Facebook and Messenger with a slow choppy scroll and delayed typing for Messenger chats and comments made by me on Facebook. Now I am not able to save passwords. I am asked permission after each login to a password protected site, and the choice that I make is not saved and it will continually ask again. I have Googled these problems until I am blue in the face and nothing seems to work. Any ideas?

Ive been running a Lenovo C930 I7-8550 1.99ghz, 256SSD, 16GB Ram, 64 bit 10 home and, knock on wood, have had no problem with any update, last one two days ago.

 

I keep a very clean machine though as I need a lot of processing. I have found, without any knowledge of why and Im probably wrong, that the more <deleted> you got running on a machine the more problems you are going to have.

Lots of problems for many with all the updates this year, it seems. Fortunately for me...like @Pib , no issues on any of my 3 Lenovo laptops. One is 6 years old and 2 are about 2 years old each.

Major problems. It's totally denied access to MYOB accounting software - am assuming it's only with those who loaded original software before 2017. Still not fixed.

I received updates a few days ago, and then again the next day which seemed odd to me. As someone else said, maybe to correct a problem. Both updates went okay for me.

Something interesting that I noticed - I've seen videos that say when you receive updates you have to re-set your security settings, the ones where you tell Microsoft to p*** off. This time, they were unchanged. Maybe the company listened to the complaints.
