Sad to read of anyone's unnecessary death.

That said, is there anything more bone stupid than fighting - and perhaps killing - over face masks that do absolutely nothing to protect the wearer?

Still, as they say, 'there ain't no cure for stupid'.

Surgical and N95 face mask do offer some protection although not 100% foolproof.

There are even some people who fought over toilet paper after the coronavirus outbreak. Watch video below.

A Chinese man who fell to his death from the sixth floor of a Bangkok hotel on Friday (March 13) was allegedly in possession of a large quantity of protective facemasks.

I'm guess in 'allegedly in possession of protective facemasks' means they may disappear before report is finished

Maybe it was God who pushed him thru the window...... LOL ....

Sad ending to another outstanding Chinese tourist.  And how thoughtful of immigration to let him in...

Have they looked at the hotel's surveillance cameras? Kinda basic investigation stuff.

But if they find someone they'd rather not identify, like maybe a member of Parliament who had an extended holiday in Australia, I'll bet the system was not working that night. The good old Jeffrey Epstein excuse.

You read about drug deals going bad, basic plot of bad movies, but a mask deal gone bad?

Btw, China still has mask shortages, not all provinces have enough.

Big question is, if he was from Fujan, why was he allowed into Thailand on March 5th?

That certainly is the big question but there are no restrictions from the Thai side, especially as he was bringing money with him - as a tourist!!   Thailand, probably the least pro-active country in the world to deal with this crisis.

Working with the Department of Disease Control, officers learned that the victim came from Fujian, which is among cities battling a Covid-19 outbreak, and arrived in Chiang Rai on March 5.

He arrived in Chiang Rai on March 5th?

Why do they not understand that the virus originated in China and stop all tourism coming from there?

  The mind is boggling.

I'm surprised "wollies" ( Woolworths) is still  going  down under

So how did he get them? I can't buy one for love nor money!

Somebody is doing a rip (off) roaring trade and my first impression is 'Government sponsored!'

You might think it is funny but not nice at all a man died.

So?

The cover-up should be easy.

Who "helped" him to the usual Thai balcony jump ? .. as he is a falang, the case will be obivously closed as usual...SUICIDE. Next.

RIP

Big money in masks, I suspect murder.

A face mask deal gone wrong?

Maybe he thought a bunch of them in his hands would act like a parachute.
