yes and they are wrong.

No WE aren’t. Thailand is already over the hump. Listen you can’t FAKE how many people are dying of this. There have been  almost NONE in Thailand. CNN ( the Corona News Network ) and other horrible media like the Boston Globe, New York Times and Washington Post love to run these doomsday what if stories constantly. The Globe has 60% of Americans getting Corona scare mongering stories today. They are so full of it.  Thank God at least I didn’t vote for you for POTY lol.  Stop the scare BS. It’s annoying. Thailand is not going to stop travel within country. You know how they change their policy everyday or are you a virgin ??

There is absolutely nothing in the OP that describes a lockdown. It's a term being bandied about now as part of a new vocabulary since the outbreak, lockdown, exponential, social distancing, surface contamination, and the worst of all, zoonotic.

A lockdown is when no-one goes anywhere, ever in a certain area like they did in Wuhan. One person out for shopping every two days for two hours, and the rest within their living quarters permanently until they're told they can go out.

Not a few extra checks here and there and traffic moving fairly freely.

Waiting for the after cabinet meeting tomorrow to see just what is locked off.  As of now it sounds like schools, sports venues, and anyplace where more than 50 can gather......or maybe I misread what the deputy Muppet said tonight since the big man did not appear.....oh yeah and they will stagger there work time and work from home.....submarine must not be available yet....

Heard from doc in Rayong Hospital -  400 cases there, who have been tested positive.

What a load of bo llox, someone should report you for false stories. Yesterday a friend had a guest with fever at their guest house in Ban Phe, virus tested and proved negative but it was disinfected today by the health department.

ps which Rayong hospital?

This news doesn't make any sense without "background".

Buriram = Newin.

This man thinks he owns the province. He thinks he's the king. So he decided that central gvt wasn't doing enough against the virus !

Thats why he decided this grotesque (and "private") lockdown !

To be in the lights. To be on TV.

Eventhough there isn't any "cases" in Buri Ram (the quarantine camp is another matter).

I wrote it before : the virus unleashes the "thainess", the very worst part.

You're going to see a match between all those inane "officials" with an uniform...

Each of them will try to "out-perform/out-do" the others by launching crazy ideas in order to fight the virus...

It's going to be a festival of madness.

Newin, the mafia boss, just shot the first bullet...

Prepare for an endless supply of mad bullets...

That's the thai way.

From zero to infinity... in a matter of days.

From mai pen rai, to being an absolute "zealot".

Hey that sounds like where I live in America ! The hysteria is through the roof . Generation snowflake is melting quicker then an ice cream on a boiling day in issarn .

Anutin is behind this idea so it is just gamesmanship - he's acting tough to boost his popularity as a 'man of action' and chances for Prime Minister.

There is no science or health backing for his proposal which will be implemented in the same way as any bad public policy - poorly and reluctantly.

Thailand should close its border and order a travel ban from USA, UK, and Europe, the countries that cannot control it effectively. It is the only way to stop infection and save lives.

Far too late now. The  measure should have been taken months ago. Thai infrastructure is not capable of controlling the flow of people or to control those infected.

There's something called internet banking.

Also, now is a great time to buy cryptos like Bitcoin.

This whole hype and disease was created the Covid is the black swan for the Great depression.

This is actually what Bitcoin was designed for.

Sell all stocks, get rid of all Fiat currency esp  US$

Except that Bitcoin has taken a beating recently. You can't spend Bitcoin in supermarkets and pharmacies.

Very confusing... Buriram in lockdown, yet little P says everything under control..... Somebodies telling porkies.

It just demonstrates how various political family dynastic clans control their own little fiefdoms. Newin has decided, Buriram does. End of.

It also shows that although some posters think differently, the PM and his cohort aren't all powerful.

You do realize that Anutin and Newin are two different people, don't you?

A case of a very large and fast denial hitting the buffers at a very great speed ???? Although loss of life is always preferable to loss of face once you have lied yourself into a dead end. TIT.

Really? Based on what evidence?

There is no evidence to support a rise, but don't be surprised if they do "skyrocket", it will help support the "agenda"

Facts are no longer important, they have gone out the window long ago!

The BBC had a good article stating that the virus definitely originated in the USA 5 hours ago, gone two hours later, the good old politically independent Brussels Brainwashing Corp, pulled the article - guess the truth didn't fit the agenda, this is all being driven now, by "Who" - no idea!

New Jersey in America just locked down the state and called out the national guard.

My wife told me the doctor who has been treating her for a nail wound told her that COVID-19 is all over Thailand and they plan on locking down Thailand no one is going to be allowed to go out of their houses, they will be brought food when needed.

This is just 1 step while still letting people move around a little, until it becomes like Italy or China.

It's like the Quarantine in New York now in one area, its expanding now to New Jersey, New York will expand to the entire State, then the entire country before you know it, like Italy and China.

There doesn't seem to be much change in Chiang Rai, less people in Big C because there's less money to spend. Hand sanitizers most places.

What does a lockdown entail? Is it correct to assume movement within the locked-down area is still permitted?

I think we are about to see the infection numbers here skyrocket,

You bet. We had 2 cases on Feb 25, today we have about 1000. Country is in lockdown, part in quarantine. Vienna airport is about to close. Borders are closed for private travel.
