Popular Post Tagged
I have been twice to my local immigration, and twice there have been one Scandinavian, who have been rude, impolite, shouting, stressing the people working there. I am myself Scandinavian, and I must say, I was so embarrassed by these two. The one yesterday, came in, being lauded, shaking hands and hugging is friend, (I guess it is not so vise to do so in these corona times), and then after a short chat, turn around and shout where is my number, I want a number. Is there no queue number here, why is it no system? Continue talking laud With his friend about the lack of system, and walk up to the working ladies desk, and want a queue number, "I do not want to sit here and not know my number". The lady being polite say they have a queue system, and he continue arguing with here in a rude tone, for then being asked to leave his passport at her desk and walk back to his friend continue to be loud. I have seen the same behaviors at embassies, restaurants, shops, and everywhere else you can imagine. Also against some poor fellow working at a national park, and let their frustration turn at the man or woman working there. I wanted so bad to take this man outside and have a chat with him, but got my things done, and left silent. How can we improve our impressions and reputations having idiots behaving like this? Simple question. Especially at these times, we are not the god given gifts to thais, their frustration could easily turn against us at som point. Just a heads up, behave, and be polite, we are their guests. Simple as that. 21 8
Popular Post 4MyEgo
There will always be others who are "different", have you ever heard of Karma, it takes its course, trust me, and if these clowns are treating immigration officers this way, well who knows maybe they have something coming sooner, than later, hopefully, a declined visa stamp in their passport, go straight to Swampy, do not collect $200. 9 1 3

You know, some of them is married to important government workers. They even brag about the stickers they have on their car, or some kind of proof their wife have given them, so they can get away with almost anything. Not sure about this fellow, but he seemed to feel quite important! In my opinion, he should have gotten a nose job for such behavior. 3 2

Popular Post baansgr
Shouting is a sign of weakness, and seriously won't get you anywhere here. Nope, quite a small immigration, and hardly believe it is useally no more than a handfull of people there at most, yesterday I guess we where 7 at the moment he turned his frustration against the system ????. First time I was there it was only me, until this other fella showed up, and made a scene. I could tell his wife was fed up with him, and tried to excuse her self, when she tried to solve the problem for him, and he sitting in the back leaned back shouting to the staff, they where wrong, and he was right. 1

Well i guess it's time they introduce a ticket system or at least a desk behind the door where applicants can speak to somebody. For people from the developed world it can be frustrating to do everything old style like 30 years ago...and also the immigration officers who can't speak english isn't very professional. Nevertheless the foreigners have to be polite, dress polite, behave polite...but the same goes for the immigration officers and i've noticed that they don't do that themselves either...like calling people by their first name when there passport is ready...why not call them out loud by their last name including the word mister or misses...just calling the name Peter, Peter while peter has no idea that he's being called isn't professional. And if they call christian names from the passport while the applicant has another first name is frustrating. The front desk woman, had done nothing to get yelled at in such manner at all. She is busy taking care of things, for other customers, and he think he can just open up a show for himself on their cost. As well all of the 3 girls we have been in contact with, spoke decent english as well. On my behalf, I always bring my gf, or someone else who speak their language fluent, and do not believe it is their job to know, Chinese, English, Russian, French or Swedish. And a last thing, I never had a problem with any immigration office in Thailand, always been treated good, and they have been polite. Even at arrival in the airports, never a single bad work or any trouble from them at all.

Spot on. Made an interesting observation on that note in the local Foodland yesterday, had 2 categories of customers basically: cat 1) cart full of meat, canned food, TP while cat 2) cart filled up with booze.

fittobethaied
This is the same sort of mentality that one might observe when thrown in a holding cell with other prisoners. It's all about survival of the fittest and control. These people are very insecure and have low intellect, bad character and no respect for social graces, so they can only hope to control and manipulate others by brute force and loud lip service. It's all they understand and all they know to do to get their way, and they've probably been using those tactics all their life. Best thing to do is just keep quiet and remove yourself from their environment as soon as possible. Trying to correct them or teach them a lessor or two is only a pipe dream and may take you further than you want to go! Fine for us to B&C about the rules, but at the end of the day it's our duty to comply. The Immigration officers we deal with aren't the ones making the rules, but it is their job and duty to enforce the rules. They are not our enemies and we shouldn't treat them as such. FWIW, being an American I've always said fellow Americans are my biggest embarrassment overseas.... I'm confident many nationalities feel the same about their compatriots. 5
