But that said, the time frame is something else, how long can people living hand to mouth survive for with no chance to earn a baht.

About two days. Then, they'll be on the lookout for "Walking ATMs" to solve their problem.

Good start.

Everyone will just come to Pattaya.

That's what I would do if I were a tourist.

Or Chiang Mai. Oh no, too bad air.

Its probably not going to be so good when all the bars and restaurants are closed.

But people may have the beach to themselves.

Would you want to be caught there in a lockdown if it starts?

No no no , you've been far too romantic with them. Their face should be two feet from yours ......unless......no......that's impossible.

i have to assume my description is what most normal well adjusted tourists and human beings do.

i have no actual empirical experience with this.

So were you riding this horse along the road to Damascus then - when there was a thunderbolt which knocked you from the saddle, and a voice from the clouds spoke unto NCC1701A saying; "Go home, lock yourself away and <deleted> no more..."?

If he is willing to do this for Bangkok, the axe will fall on Phuket and Pattaya as well. Stand by Isaan massive repatriations about to happen !!

This would be a surefire way for the virus to escalate quickly from stage 2 to stage 3.

I think what we are witnessing now, all over the world, from all politicians, is see me doing something syndrome. In a world filled with an angry finger pointing mob of wannabe experts screaming on social media, politicians seem to be pushed into acting out of appearances.

I am not sure if the benefit of such actions are going to override the added economic devastation this will cause.

As someone pointed out earlier, this could cause mass movement of people from city to province. Who could these people be? Asymptomatic, or lightly symptomed people going back to unwittingly infect the weak.

I am starting to believe isolating the weak is a far better idea, and carry on. Italy had an aged population locally which caused problems, yes?

In two weeks, what then? Another two? At some point businesses are lost to buyers making out like bandits.

I am not liking this panic!

and all this because 1 or 2 people in thailand have died so far.

i doubt closure for 14 days will help much, other countries seem to be closing with no deadline

Probably a year or longer until there's a vaccine, but it won't be quarantine. People will get back on the streets, be more careful and alert than before, there will be outbreaks and further local quarantines and if there's no vaccine, it'll become endemic like influenza. The name of the game is now delaying it:

How will the people who usually pay to get masturbated twice a week cope ?

I wasn't aware of that definition of the "m" word. Every day's an education.

Thanks for the graph, but I suck at reading those. It looks to me like the longer the time, the lower the mortality rate.

That is the correct definition, although *Happy endinged * (which has the same meaning) would be incorrect

so it is safe to get a one hour oil massage from another human being who is spending all day in extremely close contact with tourists from all of the world? faces sometimes just inches apart for a hour? head massage with your head in their lap while they are bent over you breathing in each others expelled virus?

rows of tourist lined up in a room right next to each other getting foot massages?

I would say very safe. Compare to rush hour train, any crowded market, a busy restaurant, a hospital waiting room, a taxi, a McDonald's, or a girl in contact with how many people in her entire day? How often does she wash her hands and body?

I think panic is causing the real damage here. Be afraid or don't be afraid. The choice is yours. It won't change anything other then the ability of the immune system to cope.

If you order food you still can't trust it, wipe brown your water bottles! Close vents to the outside world!

Sure.

Waiting now for the counter-orders, the amended orders... and all the other brillant ideas that our Great Leaders will be willing to throw into the (hot) air.

Tomorrow. And the day after.

One step forward. Half on the left. A third on the right. 2 steps backward.

Rince, repeat. Change your feet position.

Smile.

It's the Wuwudance thai style.

don't worry everybody its only temporary :coffee1:

This is getting silly.  Now they also close kids play areas like Harborland.

Happy isolation, I'm going out for a coffee.

this will be going on for years. thailand economy will be completely decimated- the bar and restaurant industry in thailand that cater to farangs with farang prices will be destroyed. it will be a different thailand once all this is over that's for sure

Need to block the mass movement of people first, then close the entertainment businesses.

Hummm, this is going to get very interesting, in ways it would be better not to enumerate.
