Yes!

My friends say/think same last night see him TV.

He look skinny, weak and old a lot.

Does make you wonder what he was suffering from a few weeks ago when he went into isolation. A very bad flu can weaken you but people usually put on condition when it's passed. Cancer? He's no spring chicken after all.

You need more than a prayer at this stage of the game ! How about praying for the whole world population, or do only Thais count ?

  • Glad to hear only foreigners can transmit the virus.

Thai nationals will probably be allowed to return with some sort of mandatory quarantine rather than the voluntary effort that failed. Foreigners simply won't be boarded on the dwindling flights or turned back at land borders.

As for the foreigners who's very existence in Thailand is predicated on frequent border runs and similar 'refresh' measures, better make a conscious effort to keep tabs on what your home nation is doing with regard to the inevitable 'rescue' flights. Keep in mind that the deeper into this contagion the world progresses, the higher the likelihood that you will need to be quarantined after any flight or border crossing.

Good luck with any more rescue flights. I think that window closed a few weeks ago. Be prepared to be on your own as far as travel arrangements go.

When it will reach Phase 3? India closed its border when they had around 30 cases and at least for now seem to be containing it with less than 0.1 cases per million population.

Give it time. Outside of the cities the cases will skyrocket and possibly millions will die. But keep that happy thought.

AFAIK any rescue flights out of the UK have been operated by the tour operators to repatriate those stranded in Spain and the Balearics. There's a whole other element of the UK's diaspora that aren't on package tours and backpacking. Since most state airlines will have aircraft languishing on aprons, I can foresee there's still scope for various governments to bring home their own when they are faced with fellow citizens being stuck in very poor conditions. That and being accused of abandoning their citizens won't look great when election time beckons.

It is likely too late for Thailand. Should have shut the border at the start. But, greedy as ever, they continued to let tourists in from the epicenter and source of the disease;-China. I fear we may now all be about to pay for this mistake.

Based on the above, I do not believe the Thai Govt figures. Just how many cases does Thailand really have?

Decisions decisions.... should we all leave now while we can?

I certainly hope you are right. There's going to be a lot of people up the proverbial without a paddle very soon.

This is going to cost trillions to all economies, lets hope they don't sacrifice expats while looking after the home country citizens.

Maye get a haircut and drop the mascara? Might help? Just putting it out there.

And the stud necklace.....a nice tie might help.

There is only so much that dyeing your hair can do to make you look younger.

No it doesn't work. They look like they have dyed their hair. Not as bad as those wearing wigs, mind. BTW I am bald and have been for 15 years.

I totally agree. Not as bad as the comb over though. Geez just shave the lot off and get a tattoo of a spider to keep the flies off yer bonce.

Trouble?

Can't be a good situation with open slather refugees from the Turkish side combined with the virus thing. Lot of problems heading greater Europe's way. Maybe a war?

What is fase3 its only 212 with Corona in Thailand thats only fase 1 is it something they not tell us.

One of the last Norwegian flights departed Oslo today direct to Bangkok. Also Qatar and KLM still operate flights to Bangkok.

Let's not kid ourselves here. Testing has only been done 6000 times. Meanwhile it costs 5k baht per test so a big % of the population settles for the flu and returns home. This has been in "stage 3" for a good two weeks, and we all know it. Cut the <deleted>, close the country and prepare (buy in from China) the necessary equipment to serve severe and critical Covid-19 patients.

You can feel in the air that tomorrow, after noon they will activate Stage 3. 100%

Personally I'm more worried about the lockdown consequences that the virus. 30% of the country will be unable to even make enough to eat....Desperate times call for desperate measures. Be safe all.

It has nothing to do with the numbers but with the way of transmission. Domestic transmissions with an unknown source will spark fase 3.

Given  that  it is likely that the  majority of  expats have  been  extracting the  financial reserves  of  home  countries it is unlikely  that  there will be  much priority  given to them.

As  it is  already  many long   term expats  who  return home  already  face  restrictions  on access  to   services for qualifying periods.

What does this mean for anyone wanting to fly out of the Kingdom?

This time tomorrow I'll be on my plane back to blighty - fingers crossed !

I booked a flight on Thai Airways which was at the time, the cheapest one way non stop (£431)- don't even wanna try going through another airport and get stuck there either.

Looked again today, flight was not available - presuming full up as it was still on the schedule - BUT the next flight had doubled to near £900 ! (Monday was still low though).

I'd suggest if your going make it sooner rather than later - though saying that BOris will probably lay on free escape flights for all !

organize a nationwide ceremony to pray for Thailand and the Thai people

We all know what they think of foreigners, do u really believe that when <deleted> hits the fan, not if, but when, that western people will be takin care of over Thais?

think again, Thailand is the last place anyone wants to be when, not if it happens!

get the <deleted> out of dodge!
