Have you seen how prices change in the UK when there is half term or summer holidays? Edited March 19, 2020 by Canuck1966 8 1

Yes sure it is supply and demand but these are quite exceptional times and when masks that could help stop spread this virus are being exploited for excessive profit it goes too far .. 7 1

AussieBob18
They were warned - price inflation on masks was banned by PM/Govt - that will stop any others - good news. And quietly let them all out in a month on the basis they keep quiet - job done.

Guaranteed to spread it within the centre and the community via custodial officers getting infected

Popular Post ThailandRyan
Wow, what a turn around. How can they be tried and convicted so fast and it takes years for other bigger cases to even be taken to court here.....Its good they were charged and convicted, but it shows how fast someone who is low level on the rung gets banged up quickly while if you are Hi-So you get a free ride for years. I do understand the reasoning for the quick conviction and posting by the press. They want the profiteering to stop, but the government can not have it both ways. They have ministers who have supposedly been involved in shady deals that if they were arrested and convicted would show the public its truly not acceptable.... The hospital I think you are referring to charged me 49,000 baht for a med that normally sells for 2000 baht but I guess that is OK. 1
Antonymous
Wife went into a big pharmacy in Chiang Mai yesterday. She was wearing the exact same model of mask as the shop had on display at 139 baht each. She told him that she paid 20 baht for hers two month's ago. Pharmacist just shrugged. Yep, supply and demand.

monkfish
The government needs to be seen doing something to solver the mask shortage so they pick on small time traders easy targets but the big time smugglers go scott free. This solves nothing there aren't any masks. And please those Trolls who claim they just bought 50 name your source!

This is why supply demand argument is invalid. The government needs to get the masks to the people. They can begin by distributing at BTS MRT stations.
