Certified copy of Passport for 1 year extension on Non"O"

Featured Replies

Greetings all,

I'm starting the process of getting a 1 year extension on my multiple entry Non'O' visa (based on being a parent of a Thai child) inside Thailand at the Phuket Immigration and will be getting my legitimacy of paternity document from the court within a few weeks.

My question is what happens when I get this document from the court? Can I take it straight to the Amphur to get the document which is needed by immigration? I'm not sure what this document is called but it is apparently issued by the local Amphur which is proof that I'm the legal father of the child.

Or, do I first have to get a certified copy of my passport from my countries Embassy which is to be stamped by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and then take it to the Amphur to get this document?

I'm hoping to do everything in Phuket as my Embassy is in Bangkok which will make things a bit difficult for me at the moment.

If anyone has recently gone through this process, your information will be very much appreciated .

Thanks.

Steve

I don't recall any reports of a certified copy being need to get a the Kor Ror (not sure but maybe 11) to prove your parenthood.

Not directly visa related so moving to the Family and Children forum where there is pinned topic about it.
