I'm currently on 30 day visa exempt, expires on April 5. The last time I applied for 60 extension based on marriage at Jomtien in January 2020 they asked for a Kor Ror 2, which my wife got from the Amphur at Banglamung. So my question is, will a copy of that same Kor Ror 2 suffice, or do they require a new one from the Amphur every time you apply for the extension?

You should not need a new one unless they consider it to old. Hard to predict if they will want a updated one.

You might find it hard to get a new updated one. Many Amphoes have reduced what services they are doing and a updated Kor Ror 2 is not one of them.

Thanks Joe, with that in mind I might just apply for the 30 days (tourist) first.

Its  the same story up in Mae Sai as of a week ago

Kor Ror is a requirement for married extension

I'm gonna go immigration tomorrow and get the 30 days first. Unless things have changed recently, you can then still apply for 60 days based on marriage afterwards. I think that might be the best option under the circumstances.

How old can the kot ror be? Is 1 month old before the extension date acceptable?

That would be new enough at the majority of offices.

It's a quite recent thing, as in this year, as far as I know. Maybe it does not apply to those making annual extensions. When was the last time you went for an extension?

Many offices require a new one each year, this proves that you have not been divorced up to the time it was issued, your 7 year old one does not show that.

I'm sure I posted this before but it seems to have disappeared (along with a few other posts)

...so again  I went to Jomtien last month for extension of stay by marriage to a Thai..I gave them a copy of my 7 year old Kor Ror 2  and they had no problem with that at all..they have never asked me for an updated Kor Ror 2  but as always other people have a different experiance.

Sorry, Joe. Just for clarification. Are you saying that they are not offering updated Kor Ror 2s, or they are?

My latest is from January. Will this suffice for CW?

It depends upon where you go. There have been reports of some Amphoes/Khets only doing urgent services.

They have not entirely stopped issuing updated Kor Ror 2's.

CW may accept one from January. Some offices say 6 months is good,

I tried to extent my 90 days to another 60 days today at CW and was unsuccessful as I did not have all the correct paperwork, I did have a copy of my Kor Ror 2 which they ask for. Here is a list of what they are asking for:

Passport Original

Photo copy of passport

Photo copy of my multiple entry O visa

photo copy of my TM6 and arrival stamp

If you rent or lease a copy of the lease agreement and the original

Copy of Wifes Tabien Bann book

Copy of wifes ID card

Marriage Certificate original and copy

Since I did not have a copy of the TM30 they gave a piece of paper that I need.

Application form TM30

Copy  ID Card or Passport of House Master Owner

copy of house registration of House master owner

So my landlord is going to do the TM 30 registration on line this afternoon so I believe that once that is done I do not need the last three mentioned above. So I will go back tomorrow and give it another try.

Are you sure that you can get 30 days then 60 days ?

and you can get the updated mariage certificate from any city hall even where you are not registered ?

Did you notice how old that post is.

You can apply for a 60 day extension to visit your wife after a 30 day extension.

A printout of a Kor Ror 2 marriage registry can be requested at any Amphoe. Pattaya is about the only place that has a city hall.

Your Thai spouse can get an updated Kor Ror 2 marriage registration as "any" district office in Thailand.

@ubonjoe I missed this conversation yesterday, but my situation is a little different. I'm on a non-O multi, which I am able to extend for 60... But if I can do the 30 using the "Letter of Support" from our ACS and do the 60 day extension later, it will simplify my life considerably.

It's the Pathum Thani Immigation Office. My permission to stay expired 12 June, so I'm here under the grace period, too (aka amnesty).

Thank You

I suggest you get the letter and ask your immigration office if they will do the 60 day extension after you get the 30 day extension with the embassy letter.

At some offices it will be yes and others no.

Thanks. I got the letter last week, but then thought I'd use it as the back up.

Has anyone been asked for an updated kor ror 2 at Jomtien recently. I was going to go next week and wondered if we had to go to the Amphur first? Thanks.

Yes this year 2021, for the first time they made me go to the Amphur office to get an updated Kor Ror 2
