This might just be the starting point for the tvf members who are considering doing a round of intermittent fasting.

  • How, pray tell, can a nation that mostly feeds itself by a daily shopping trip, stay in under 24 hour curfew ? We are in Thailand, not La-La Land. Bring it on !

  • It has zero chance of improving within one week , they should take a close look at how other countries are doing and act accordingly but a 24 hr lock-down is just ridiculous . The numbers will keep ri

  • How does a 24 hour curfew work? How are people supposed to get food and other essential items?    Serious question

Why so much worry when they report only 100+ cases a day? Why curfew? The numbers are pathetic. Life should go back to normal with some precautions, like wearing masks and banning crowds. You don't need to shut down the country and destroy so many lives that don't have any income.

you could be up to 6000 EUR lighter if you decide to ignore the lockdown.

Not  if  you  don't  have 6000 EUR as  many won't and the prisons won't  be able to cope.

Veggies or fruits only last 3-4 days, so you may not be getting many vitamins and roughage.

In the fridge paprika, leek, green beans, potato, bok choi, broccoli, carrot all easy last a week or even 2.

Green mango's also last 2 weeks in the fridge, jackfruit peeled 5 days, and so on.....

Forget it, will never happen, just another bad idea from a Thai official.
People still need to eat and buy the essential.

The 24 hour lockdown china had, people were allowed to go out and buy essentials once a week i think or maybe it was only 1 person from 1 household is allowed out.

No need because the government is able to restrict new cases to not much more than 100 a day with hardly any deaths.

China had some sort of an app where you needed to renew your health checkup status to be able to go out at all?

While these types of quarantines are medieval (Literally, quarantine is a medieval invention:  https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3559034/ ), when people are stupid and stubborn you need a big hammer. The question then becomes how long will it take before they start to behave and can be let out in controlled fashion again. In Thailand.. a couple of centuries I'd guess.

I would hazard a guess and say it will continue to rise let’s say maybe between 100-120/day for the foreseeable future so prepare yourself folks.

That would mean it under some control. Escalating very  rapidly to 1000 day is where its otherwise headed. Think exponential.

Quite possibly there already but 100-120 is as much as they going to disclose in line with the number of tests.

So what about the poor Thai people in these 1 room places ,no fridge ,living from day to day ,nowhere to store food ,its ok for the Thais who live around me in their big houses ,with freezers and all mod cons ,and one neighbour ,i doubt she has ever cooked anything ,food is delivered at least twice a day ,lockdown doesnt really affect them ,but the poor will be out and about.

Sadly, many Thai husbands that now cannot buy hot food on the way home from work, are going to be finding that their wives of 10 years up cannot cook a hot dog

Oh it will happen alright let's not forget this guy is a general

He was a general he is now a civilian and will have to do what the generals tell him to do if they make that decision.

What on earth makes you think they care about people and their essentials?

So long as she can hide a hot dog.

Yes of course without mass testing it's impossible to know especially as so many cases are asymptomatic. This video Is about Florida but the same principles apply anywhere.

Lazada still sells fridges & freezers, delivered to your front door. I'm sure you can get beer delivered, too.

The military way of fixing things....when military governments everywhere cannot control things, curfew is their response, usually because they have no idea what else to do!

That'll put most of the population out of work - brilliant idea..............................NOT!

Total rubbish of course the numbers are rising as testing is still in its infancy. Hard to flatten the so called curve with a curve that has no reference start or end coordinates they're just plotting points with questionable data ( testing is not even close to being 99 percent accurate ) and what standard does the testing conform to ? We know the answer. Get some fresh air and be safe y'all . The battle is not against the virus it's against Tyranny..

Hey the traffic fatality numbers are bound to improve. What heros they are for keeping us safe !

Up here in the sticks, each village elder can impose a village imposed isolation.  allowing each village free movement inside the village to assist each other, plenty of crops to eat etc. allow no movement between villages for a week. no one in no one out, lets see if that helps

The government might take recourse to a 24-hour curfew within a week if the number of Covid-19 patients kept rising.

This is an absolutely stupid statement to make, all it will do is make people panic buy and stock up on food items where ever possible which is something the government do not want to happen as it will cause supply problems.
