Hi,

I'm off to LOS on Friday and will be taking with me everything required for my tgf to apply for a visit visa to come to stay with me in the UK.

So far, I have the following. Can you all please advise if there's anything else I need to take with me.

TIA

VAF1 form

Copy of my passport, including pages with stamps

Letter from myself as the sponsor

Letter from my landlord

Letter from my employer

Photocopies of 6 months bank statements

Copy of savings in an ISA (to be used to support her whilst she is here)

Copies of 6 months pay slips

Copies of 8 months phone bills

Print out of web-page used to phone Thailand to illustrate the cheap dial number on the phone bill

Photos of us together

Any advise/suggestions would be greatly appreciated

All that is OK for the sponsor but she is the applicant and the most important thing is for your g/f to provide evidence of a reason to return to Thailand and then of course the fee in the form of a bank draft.

good luck, you seem to have it covered

Mark

Yes both Boxer and Leedm have it well covered but what a farce that they are both (esp Boxer!!) having to provide phone book thick bundles of documents just to get their girlfriend a visit visa !! I thought , reading Boxer's post, that they were applying for citizenship!!

Mahout makes a very important point in that you both MUST provide reasons for her to return to Thailand (or at least leave the UK) at the end of her stated stay. No amount of documentation will help you if you don't address this point as well

Do these not show a fairly valid reason to return?

Good luck lads.

Thanks all I failed to say that I live here in Thailand on Retirement Visa since 2000 so that is a good reason to return we have lived together for 4 years also. However I have been guided by the Checklist and found it easy to provide most of the information they wanted. Better be sure than wanting and I have taken time in presentation of it as well. One point was the photos, online pics have embedded dates in them as evidence so a disc copy is enclosed but when you print them out they could be any time? I have just listed the dates and occasions, anyone had questions about when photos taken.
