TAT update: Phang Nga enhances COVID-19 control measures

Closure of high-risk areas and ban entry into the province.

Bangkok, 05 April, 2020, at 14.00 Hrs. – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) would like to provide the latest update on Phang Nga province’s order to close areas deemed at risk of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) infection, with immediate effect until further notice.

 

The order covers all areas of Phang Nga, including Khao Lak.

 

Closure of the following venues and business establishments from 4 April, 2020, onwards until the situation improves.

 

All 24/7 convenience stores or similar shops and services are to be closed from 22.00 – 04.00 Hrs.

 

Hotels, resorts and similar establishments, with the exception of hotels designated as hospitals and emergency venues. Any hotels currently occupied are required to be closed as soon as the last guests have checked out.

 

A ban on entry into Phang Nga, with the exceptions for people with follow-up medical visits, medical and rescue personnel, banking and finance personnel, and logistics workers transporting consumer goods, pharmaceutical products, medical supplies and equipment, and court officials and people with court orders – all of whom must receive permission to enter from the local communicable disease control officers at the point of entry.
