IF! If they even had half a brain they'd be dangerous!

Money always trumps logic and common sense; you know all those Thai Immigration envelopes have to trickle up to the top brass.

You just have to keep their money supply chain ticking over no matter how many foreigners catch COVID-19 or die of it.

If so many other countries news media were not so preoccupied with their own COVID-19 issues the photos could be sent to the global press to demonstrate what a bunch of morons run this country.

Send them off to the UN and see what response you get; Thailand's treatment of foreigners in their country during a pandemic.

Sorry but anyone going to an immigration office to do a 90 day report, is a fool. All you need to do is fill in the form and mail it to them. Everyone can manage to do that.

I did it March 30th I look in my mail box everyday !

Disgusting. I hope that a lot of you savvy people can find a way to put this on front page newspapers worldwide. This must be the cherry on the cake of all the most abominable things a government ever has done, anywhere !

If most of the tourists have gone home, who are all these people going to immigration every day. Surely it’s not like this normally so why is it so busy now?

... closed borders to neighboring countries also of course play a big role in those queues.

It will take a few deaths of Immigration workers before they stop this nonsense

A BIG THANK YOU for your comment!
In between of hundreds of stupid comments posted by frustrated and daily bored TVF Specialists.

I've been out for 4 months Stevie boy getting treated for cancer! I've done more for Thailand than you'll ever hope to do! Where I am is of no consequence, you just keep licking the butt of the general!

I think he likes the taste though......mmmmm chunky....

He would have done that the day before

At Jomtien they normally take your photo (digitally) when you pick up your passport so they have a record of it (in case someone claims that someone else took theirs by mistake or something).

Just a common sense solution as everyone and their friendly soi dog has suggested for the last month or so.!

Immigration hierarchy and common sense... not had nearly enough meetings yet.

How to contain the security threat posed by them all.. after allowing them in, in the first place?

How much I'd love to see all of our individual embassies pen a strong letter to the Immigration service and PM Prayut stating this in itself is a health risk to all those made to follow this madness!

Meanwhile in the Philippines, a decidedly poorer nation...they are warning Foreigners NOT to come to immigration and that there will be no fees or fines assessed except 30 days AFTER the emergency quarantine is lifted. Humanity over Money!

Here it would make too much sense but not enough baht if they did that. SMH

This should be forwarded to the minister of foreign affairs along with the other neighbouring countries official sensible immigration policies.

However such rebellious mutterings usually invoke the Bermuda triangle response.

How does the old saying go? "What goes around, comes around" To the Thais ,it''s known as Karma. and it's on it's way. You continue to live by screwing others for money, without thinking of the collateral damage, you'll pay. Ignoring basic human needs is a sin. Putting people at risk for a few baht will bite them in the ass. If they only could read some of the comments that are made here, they would not only understand a better way, but that they are going to lose a lot more than money in the end. When it hits home and they see friends or family die from this inconsiderate nonsense, they might take heed and make changes. When money is your sole motivation, you'll end up with nothing. Getting out of flu season helps, but heat itself hasn't proven to stop this virus. Flu season in itself means a lot of people in close quarters, hence the spread. A lot going home from Bangkok will surely give it to their families. Most will either carry it or get mild cases, but some will kill their relatives, because who will quarantine themselves for 14 days? Bad enough teenagers don't care, thinking they're invincible, but those in their twenties to forties ,already knowing what's been happening, are showing how little they care about others, including their own families. I don't think this is going away anytime soon, and we can only hope for quick antibody tests to show if you've had it,so you can both stop worrying, and go back to a normal life.

Doing it by post may work if:

a) your local office supports this - not all do.

b) your local postie is reliable enough to get the receipt slip back to you.

In my case (b) is the problem - we lose post all the time.

I know that PO boxes are available but none anywhere near me.

Pattaya always difficult obtaining visa renewals “.Regardless of virus It’s without doubt one of the slowest immigration officers I’ve ever visited and I’ve visited many over the years ! So much for social distancing / Braindead springs to mind

The System makes a smart solution impossible. To much money is involved. Not need to be bribes or under table money but for sure rental fees of copy shops etc.

A military coup only can solve the problem here.

Sorry to all democracy lovers.

How do you think the current Government came into being? Just because the PM doesn't wear his General's uniform any more doesn't mean he doesn't wear khaki underpantsunderneath!

This is absolutely disgraceful! Are these immigration officials retarded or what? Making people queue like this is criminal given social distancing requirements! I would rather pay overstay than subject myself to this BS!

but your not even in Thailand ...   you live outside.

Is that right?  Oh, boy.

mmhh ... I haven't been to other immi offices so I can't compare, but under 'usual' circumstances, never really a problem in terms of speed, well organized.

In terms of hassle of paperwork, ok, but that's a topic on it's own I guess.

Yes, but don't forget it has to be done well in advance!

Someone in the news media industry should make an active effort to get these pics and videos to media outside Thailand to give global visibility to how Thailand is handling this.

Excellent!!!! couldnt agree more, loss of face possibly worse than loss of megalomania control!

But sadly about twenty minutes and counting before this post is engulfed in Bermuda Triangle syndrome.
