Hi,

As per my previous post, in the final stages of preparing my girlfriend's Visit Visa application.

Although she will apply in April, if successful, I want her to come over in July as I don't get any time off from work until then. In light of that, I haven't booked a flight ticket for her yet.

I noticed in the visa checklist that evidence of a flight is listed, do you think under these circumstances I'll need this or should I state that the ticket will be purchased once we know whether her application has been successful ?

TIA

You don't state for which country, for schengen proof of onward travel is required, actually just a booking, not a final ticket. The visa start date is according to the flight booking. If visa is approved, the ticket needs to be actually bought and should be presented when collecting the visa.

Lee,

A provisional booking will not do any harm, but the embassy reccomend to not book any flights untill you have the visa.

Don't worry about it too much

Lee, I have to agree with Markr as I recently read in another thread that the embassy do not advise you buy a ticket on the basis that she may be refused a visa, which means you'll be about 500 squid out of pocket. We left this option blank when we recently applied for a tourist visa. Got the visa and I'm still looking for a flight for my missus, but theres not alot about at the moment for 99 quid :o

I use Emirates to get to England and am a frequent flyer so can use the itinery status with them. Not booked but a copy of the travel enquiry saved in my account printed out it shows intent if Visa granted that is all. British Embassy surely does say Do Not book before result is known.
