What an absolute hero. I only hope the younger generation follow in this legend's footsteps.

Great to hear some nice news ????

He is not fit to shine the shoes of Capt Moore!!!!!

Well done Captain Moore!  I doubt the good captain would want 'it' kneeling anywhere near his shoes...... ????

Doubtful. The generations of today are prissy and fragile.

Amazing, he should get the VC Victoria Cross the highest military award he can get

Whilst I wholeheartedly agree with the sentiment behind your post, I'm afraid this superb effort does not qualify him for a VC.

The VC is awarded for exceptional gallantry and/or bravery in the face of the enemy. Of course, this pandemic is the enemy of us all, but I doubt it falls into the definition of 'enemy' for the award of a VC or any other military gallantry medal.

Pedantic moment over, here's hoping he, Mrs. Payne and others doing similar receive due recognition in the next honours list.

Remembering the countless NHS, care home workers etc. as well, of course.

A 99-year-old war veteran has been left "speechless" after raising more than £20m for the NHS.

Capt Tom Moore originally aimed to raise just £1,000 for NHS Charities Together by completing 100 laps of his garden before his 100th birthday.

The Duke of Cambridge hailed him as a "one-man fundraising machine".

His daughter Hannah Ingram-Moore said: "There are no words left to say. We cannot believe people's generosity and he's just floored by it."
