Amazing how people can just accept lockdowns. Scared into giving up freedom.

Nowhere near as scared as those nutters in the picture must be.

I think a-lot of people can not just sit in their homes until this all passes, and the overzealous governor of that state is a little tyrant, like most Democrats.

Wonder what they will do as death rate soars?

So basically the governor should just throw away the bill of rights and the constitution because of a virus.

Maybe you need to read them again, properly.

This is  valid point up to a point. Middle class people can manage this too. The poor and homeless are very vulnerable. A decent society (which sadly the USA is not really there yet) would have better structure and programs in place to help everyone get through these times. I think after we get through this then there will be a massive leftward shift towards more support for universal health, stronger workers unions, affordable housing programs, and yes eventually guaranteed minimum income.

And don't forget retirees. Retirees have it great right now compared to the working population.

I might agree with what you say here if Sanders were the Democratic nominee. He stood for everything you just listed, and might have actually had a chance to beat Trump.

As it is however, I highly doubt what you describe will be the outcome. We'll very likely get 4 more years of Trump, and no movement to the left as you hope. Trump is very effectively pinning the blame for this on the WHO, and people seem to be inclined to buy what he is selling.

Do you remember "Morning in America" vs. Jimmy Carter's Sweater Speech?  This is going to be a rerun of that election. Trump will tell people what they want to hear. Get back to work.  Biden can either agree with him, or take the position that more pain is necessary for the greater good. Guess who will win?

Your opinion. I disagree. The election is a referendum on 45 and his performance was horrific. He finally will be held accountable. Also Biden is very electable, and he is more progressive than most people realize. These are not the Obama - Biden times. Biden will be open when elected to adapting to these times and these times call for a RADICAL CHANGE after the pandemic. Things cannot be the same after this.

Ok, which ones have been suspended (that do not get suspended) due to the virus (global pandemic) ?

Thats anyone with a functional frontal cortex and an IQ above room temperature can clearly see that the WHO got cozy with Communist China and took everything they said and reported it to the world.

Theres a GLOBAL pandemic because of it.

Biden has been a politician for what, 50 years? Hes been involved in every bad decision made for decades, a complete flip flopping fraud liar like most Democrats, only thing is now hes not even lucid.

Dont forget the sexual assault complaint filed with the police against him that the hypocritical left and the media are conveniently ignoring.

We should not be as bad as they are, but they are indeed very bad people and blocking hospital workers from getting to work in a pandemic should be a criminal offense. Maybe make them clean up covid wards. Shame on all of them and all that support such antisocial, murderous behavior.

Well, US is where the circus industry blossommed. A proud tradition with lots of jokers.

Well unlike Europeans, Americans have a right to carry a weapon. Unlike many, there are those who still believe such a right is needed against government. If anything they should be praised for standing up rather than you know...laying down...

Totally. Even here in Thailand the whole population appear to be acting in a very responsible, mature and intelligent manner towards the measures put in place to combat this problem, which is great to see. What a contrast to these idiots! If they actually understand what they're doing they must be psychopathic, but more likely just sadly ignorant, which doesn't say a lot for the education in the USA. Make them pay double tax..

the NRA slogan 'guns don't kill people.....'

have these guys come up with a similar one?

how about ' corona virus doesn't kill people, red-necks do'

kinda catching don't cha think? (forgive the pun)

Praised for blocking essential workers from getting to work in the early stages of a global pandemic -- on what planet is such SICK behavior praiseworthy, guns or no guns.

The point is to not spread it, not to avoid catching it. Like thinking about other people - try it, gives one a nice fuzzy feeling. Freedom is never needing to carry a weapon, by the way, including the police. True freedom is never knowing the need to be free (Jim Morrison).

You call for 'freedom,'   I call for civic responsibility.

What you are calling 'freedom,' I call social irresponsibility!

These are not normal times, and they call for community before self.

People NOT behaving in the best interests of the community don't deserve to be allowed to remain IN the community.  It has nothing to do with 'law' or 'personal freedom.'

Would you stay home, would you stay out of the restaurants and pubs, etc., if they weren't closed? Somehow, I get the feeling that you would not.

They say a good man doesn't need laws to get him to do the right thing.

They also say that a bad man will look for ways to get around the law.

(How many in Chiang Mai have been scouting the Mom&Pop shops for beer these last few days?)

Medical professionals are telling us to maintain social distance, to wear masks, and not socialize for a few weeks. Are people so wound up in themselves that they can't find some way to entertain themselves for a few weeks. No one is asking you to do this for years.

A 6yr old needs to be entertained. And adult should be able to entertain themselves.

Exactly what are those idiots doing with firearms at a medical protest? Are they planning on shooting doctors?

Are you hallucinating?

There are no Police outside our doors. We are NOT locked down. We can go out if we want. I go out every 2-3 days to go food shopping, and find plenty of others doing the same. But we are all wearing masks. We are all using hand sanitizer. We are all maintaining social distancing... because we care about others. Because we care about our community.

We've chosen to avoid social contact so as to try to flatten the curve of contagion so the health care professionals can deal with the really sick people a effectively as possible.

Try not to see yourself as Paul Revere. Fact is, he was an irresponsible drunk whom the Revolutionists really didn't want around. He was unreliable and not socially conscious. Study your history and learn what 'Freedom' really means.

Amazingly The Donald has managed to condense 50 years of bad governance decisions into 3 and a bit years. All of that AND he still manages two hour rambling sessions, sorry press conferences, per day.

Knowing that a tomato is a fruit is intelligence.

Knowing NOT to add it into a fruit salad is wisdom.

The right to bear arms is a freedom guaranteed by the Constitution.

Carrying those arms to a peaceful demonstration is just bloody f@@king stupid.
