Amazing how people can just accept lockdowns. Scared into giving up freedom.

Nowhere near as scared as those nutters in the picture must be.

I think a-lot of people can not just sit in their homes until this all passes, and the overzealous governor of that state is a little tyrant, like most Democrats.

Wonder what they will do as death rate soars?

This is  valid point up to a point. Middle class people can manage this too. The poor and homeless are very vulnerable. A decent society (which sadly the USA is not really there yet) would have better structure and programs in place to help everyone get through these times. I think after we get through this then there will be a massive leftward shift towards more support for universal health, stronger workers unions, affordable housing programs, and yes eventually guaranteed minimum income.

And don't forget retirees. Retirees have it great right now compared to the working population.

I might agree with what you say here if Sanders were the Democratic nominee. He stood for everything you just listed, and might have actually had a chance to beat Trump.

As it is however, I highly doubt what you describe will be the outcome. We'll very likely get 4 more years of Trump, and no movement to the left as you hope. Trump is very effectively pinning the blame for this on the WHO, and people seem to be inclined to buy what he is selling.

Do you remember "Morning in America" vs. Jimmy Carter's Sweater Speech?  This is going to be a rerun of that election. Trump will tell people what they want to hear. Get back to work.  Biden can either agree with him, or take the position that more pain is necessary for the greater good. Guess who will win?

Your opinion. I disagree. The election is a referendum on 45 and his performance was horrific. He finally will be held accountable. Also Biden is very electable, and he is more progressive than most people realize. These are not the Obama - Biden times. Biden will be open when elected to adapting to these times and these times call for a RADICAL CHANGE after the pandemic. Things cannot be the same after this.

Put them all on the 'do not ventilate' list

We should not be as bad as they are, but they are indeed very bad people and blocking hospital workers from getting to work in a pandemic should be a criminal offense. Maybe make them clean up covid wards. Shame on all of them and all that support such antisocial, murderous behavior.

Well unlike Europeans, Americans have a right to carry a weapon. Unlike many, there are those who still believe such a right is needed against government. If anything they should be praised for standing up rather than you know...laying down...

Praised for blocking essential workers from getting to work in the early stages of a global pandemic -- on what planet is such SICK behavior praiseworthy, guns or no guns.

The point is to not spread it, not to avoid catching it. Like thinking about other people - try it, gives one a nice fuzzy feeling. Freedom is never needing to carry a weapon, by the way, including the police. True freedom is never knowing the need to be free (Jim Morrison).

Which makes him to best candidate for the Democrats to run this Fall.  Actually, the perfect candidate.

Amazingly The Donald has managed to condense 50 years of bad governance decisions into 3 and a bit years. All of that AND he still manages two hour rambling sessions, sorry press conferences, per day.
