Fully aware , thanks, but is trump's use of the facility in the spirit of his Constitutional powers - I think not.  Personally I consider it contemptible trump undermines the Courts as a personal favour for his sycophants.

My original post that you snipped below . has the reason why he has the right to the constitutional power of his office . When you snip it, your ignoring the context of my post.

For those of you who are from distance lands ! The office of president has constitutional power to pardon or commute anybody convicted  on federal charges !  These charges and convictions were all centered around the Russian hoax scandal!

The POTUS probably figures why should Stone be punished while the very same  prosecutors who put him there are under criminal investigation lol

The president’s authority to pardon rests in the U.S. Constitution, which gives presidents nearly unfettered power to forgive federal crimes or shorten sentences for those crimes.

Don’t pin your hope on that.

Trump will keep his pardon powder dry for himself and perhaps for his daughter.

Stone is no longer useful to Trump and the last thing Trump needs is Stone stripped of his 5th Amendment rights.

Stone will be left to rot.

:cheesy:

Have you seen the news?

OK, so you've conceded my point on your insinuation there is some limit to the number of pardons a president can realistically grant. Good for you.

Now on to the "Foreign Corrupt Practices Act". You sure you want to go there, Hunter?

I see, you still don't understand the difference between a PRIVATE person (Biden...as well connected as he may be) and a person who is in an official government position, enriching her/himself!

I am sure, you will get there...someday!

im british so not an expert on us law but i would have thought the last thing roger would want is a new trial that may last beyond the Donalds presidency hence the pardon?

Do not see Joe rushing to rogers defence and i assume mr barr will be already packed and shredded as much as he can on his way out the door

For the record...

stone was prosecuted by the government

stone was tried on seven (7) counts

stone was found guilty by a jury of his peers

stone was sentenced to 40 months in prision

stone remains a convicted felon
