Thanks for the feedback. You're not the first one to report that so despite what others keep saying, it's starting to be clear that the amnesty does not apply to people who got under consideration stamps. I was told before (in Bangkok's office) that my case isn't covered by the April 30 amnesty and I doubt it will be by the July 31's, if it's just an extension of the previous order.

What is very concerning is that if they expect us to bring an embassy letter, how are we gonna get it? Are they gonna force us to report every week to the immigration just to get more under consideration stamps while other tourists can just enjoy the amnesty?

The point of the post was just to inform people of my experience today. It was never intended to mislead anyone of the immigration rules. I thankyou for replys above I feel better after reading them.

Now I am puzzled:

Had visa extension to 4th Apr.

At 2nd Apr got under consideration up to 24th Apr.

I was sure I was auto extended up to 31st of July?

If not what an I to do?

Thanks.

Somebody in another thread asked such a question already where i explained the details, so i quote myself for this:

Quote

1) You had a permission to stay until 29th March, thus you are automatically extended, you don't have to worry about overstay.

2) You have an under consideration stamp in your passport which orders you to report back in person on the specific date.
It doesn't matter if you show up on the immigration office or not, you won't be on overstay due to (1).
But if you don't go there you are obviously not following a written order given to you by an IO. Probably Thailand has a law somewhere which says that you have to follow orders given by an IO. By not going you would be breaking the law, no idea if they would ever try to fine you for this (going there does obviously serve no purpose).

If you want to be 100% safe you go to get your final stamp.

If you don't go the worst thing i could see is something like a 1000THB fine in the future because you didn't show up at the immigration office when you were ordered to, but maybe they just don't care about it and nobody will ever try to fine you for it. Some immigration offices (not CM though!) even told people that they don't have to report back.
