changing schools / getting a new visa, possible at this time?

I have a non o visa and wp through my school.

Is it possible to move schools at this time and therefore get a new visa?

My understanding has always been when you change employers and your current visa is voided you leave Thailand, come back on a 30 day tourist visa and start the new employers visa process.

Obviously at the moment that is not possible and even when international travel opens again, you will need covid certificates, (government?)  14 day quarantine and who knows what else.

 

Is it possible or even realistic to think about changing employers and visas at this time / for the foreseeable?
