One hundred Thais returned home on Friday (May 8th) from Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, in an Etihad Airways flight while an Egypt Air flight flew 199 Thais from Cairo.

“The airport staff and officials from the Department of Disease Control have screened all passengers and crew and found that two persons coming from Egypt had high fever and therefore were separated from the others," said Kittiphong Kittikhajorn, deputy director of operations at Suvarnabhumi Airport.

“The rest were transported to a government-specified quarantine facility in Le Bali Pattaya Hotel in Chonburi province and will stay there for 14 days.”

3 with fevers already. Glad they are all going into quarantine.  I would hope that they would test the entire lot to determine who may have it and be asymptomatic as well.....off course this will make Thailand's numbers jump up, but then they were not infected on Thai soil....

Maybe they just have flu or food poisoning or dengue or something else which has given them a high temperature ??

Your absolutely right, so unless they meet the PUI requirements they will never be tested and the spread of whatever may continue.....just brilliant.  Never thought for a minute the Government might be proactive and give 299 tests, but it couldn't hurt now could it......

If there would be a test, then they could be tested ! Very true.

Problem is: there is no validated test !

You mean to tell me that all the positive COVID-19 tests are all false and there is no way  to test for this yet.....what? I am confused as h e double tooth picks right about now.....

I for one feel safer for them all to do a 14 day stint in quarantine than undertake dodgy test & trust

that. The testing has proved of little use in the US or UK

To be fair the latest PUI criteria is quite permissive, all you have to have is some symptoms. However that only puts you in the back of the queue to be tested, which for all we know might end somewhere in the middle of Pacific Ocean.

No validated test for antibodies. PCR test is validated.

Don't worry, as soon as they land in Thailand they will be instantly cured by the power of bullsh1t

The chant of head monk Pratkongsri never failed to cure any illness.

Unless the donation is insufficient.

So the whole flight was not detained for 14 days in quarantine?

Seems they were shipped off the Pattaya for a 14 day lockdown quarantine.
