Bag Snatch on 3rd Road

At 2.30am on 16th April the Pattaya police were informed by police volunteers that a snatching occurred on Pattaya 3rd Road and the volunteers were following the thieves into nearby Soi 17. The crooks were running off with a Miss Wipha’s pink handbag.

It took 15 minutes before the volunteers radioed back to the police station to say that the crooks were trying to get to Soi Siam Country Club and requested the police to set up a checkpoint there to catch them.

The police and volunteers set up a checkpoint but the thieves seeing the police left their bike and ran into the woods. The team gave chase and soon captured Thongkluen. The other man, Weerawat was caught when he got injured in the forest. The police were able to get the bag back, which contained a gold necklace.

The crooks were taken to the hospital and were questioned there. Thongkluen confessed to driving the bike and Weerawat confessed to stealing the bag. Further questioning was made to find out if they worked alone or were members of a gang of snatchers.
