Thailand - 22 May 2020 - In line with the expansion of its global Frontline Stays initiative in Thailand, Airbnb has now launched an industry-first partnership with the Ministry of Public Health’s Department of Health Service Support to help make available safe and convenient places to stay for frontline medical staff and Village Health Volunteers while they carry out their critical work throughout Bangkok and key provinces in Thailand.

27 drought-hit provinces named disaster zones

The Interior Ministry’s Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation has named 27 provinces as disaster zones due to severe drought and is mobilising agencies to provide immediate relief through measures such as digging wells, pumping water, building tanks and distributing water among residents.

Pattaya-Map Ta Phut tollway opens for free trial period

The 25-kilometre extension to intercity Highway Number 7 (Bangkok-Ban Chang) opened for trial service today (May 22). The route links U-Tapao Airport and Map Ta Phut Industrial estate and will be toll-free until September.

Thai pharmaceutical industry expands in wake of Covid-19 outbreak

In the first quarter of this year, Thailand’s pharmaceutical industry has expanded by 7.5 per cent year on year to Bt5.7 billion because the Covid-19 outbreak has boosted demand for drugs and vaccines.

Adherence to protection measures reducing new Covid-19 cases
