Visitor Beaten Up at Bali Hai Pier

Pattaya police were informed at 5 am on 17th April that many men were beating up a Thai man in front of the Sea Rescuer’s Office at Bali Hai Pier.

When the police and military officers arrived the attackers had already gone. The only person they found was Mr. Thawatchai, aged 25, who came from Chonburi to visit Pattaya for Songkran.

The injured man stated that he and his friends visited the Differ Pub behind Big C on Pattaya 2nd Road earlier that night. When the venue closed, most of his friends went home so he and another friend went to buy beer to drink at Bali Hai Pier.

While they were drinking, around 6 men and 4 women approached them on motorbikes. The men then walked directly to him and without any warning started beating him up. His friend ran for his life being chased by a few of the attackers.

After they finished their cowardly act they got back on their bikes and before driving off one of the men fired a gunshot into the air without saying anything.

Mr. Thawatchai told the police that he remembers all of the men as they are all staff at the Differ Pub. He stated that while at the venue he and his friends didn’t have an argument with anyone and that was their first time there.

The police made an appointment for Mr. Thawatchai to come to the police station the next day to point out the staff, which the police will search for from the venue. The case continues.
