I agree . 

However we have senior ministers desperate to appear and absolve him when they was not aware of the facts . They just followed No10 instructions.

Also we had NO 10 briefing on March 30 that Dominic Cummings was self isolating at Home.

We had a written statement from No 10 that his wife had suspected covid infection . When in fact Mary Wakefield had no symptoms of Covid.

And from someone who claims to be a digital genius to boot. ???? He gamed social media in the brief window when anyone with a bit of savvy could have done it , and err that's it and Johnson has nailed his flag to this pile of preposterous piffle.

That's fine, all circumstances can be heard at the same time in a court of law, at the same time all MPs who have been accused of breaching the lockdown rules must be tried too. It is not up the MSM or anyone else for that matter to decide who will be lynched and who will not, I sure you'd have to agree that would be a very precarious road to follow, as history as already shown us.

He went on national TV to clear the air, set oùt his explanation of the events that occurred during the trip to Durham.

There was no reason for Dominic to mention his blog writing , yet he chose to introduce it. What is more inexplicable is that it was a blatant lie.

43% of votes across the UK is, in FPTP, not bad at all (although not the highest polling party in the GE) but in our terribly skewed and debased parliamentary process, he ends up with an almost unassailable majority. Nonetheless, that doesn't allow a rewriting of facts - overwhelming is permissible, I believe, to describe his majority but not his popular support.

On 30th March Downing Street said Cummings was self isolating with his wife and child in their London home. A lie, they were in Durham.

 

Downing street said Cummings' father had not been spoken to by Durham police. A lie; he had been.

 

Downing Street said he had not taken his wife and child on a trip to Barnard Castle. A lie; Cummings did.

 

If everything was above board, if Cummings did nothing wrong, why did Downing Street lie?

 

Was it off their own bat in order to defend their de facto boss?

 

Worse, was it on Cummings' instructions?

 

Worst of all, was it on the Prime Minister's instructions?

Actually, 43% of voters voted Conservative at the last election; so not a majority.

 

Not a great believer in polls, but as YouGov has been used in the past by supporters of Johnson in efforts to show he is still popular I thought I'd post the following.

 

This YouGov poll the day after Cummings statement shows that 71% of respondents think Cummings did break the lockdown rules.

 

This one on the same day shows that 59% think Cummings should resign.
