But........but........they did bend over for the Japanese, on the condition that kentucky was used, without the entuck ! I have encountered many university educated Thais who, on being confronted with a world map, could not locate America, Europe, or even Thailand ! What do they get taught at school here !

So it looks like Thailand has embraced the Participation Trophy mentality. We are all winners, nobody's feelings are hurt, mediocrity all around!

The #122 ranked school in the US would be considered a good but second tier school. And in Thailand it's the best, go figure.

So there is 121 better Universities elsewhere in Asia , that says a lot for Thai education doesn't it NOT .

Yes, there IS 121 better universities in Asia.  If you had gone to even a <deleted> university, you might have noted that Universities is pleural  so the verb must be ARE.  The second phrase of your sentence contains a double negative so ends up being meaningless. Wear was u teached English ?

Mahidol and  Mae Fah Luang University are in the top 800; Chula is in the top 1000;  all other Thai universities are below 1000

I just see 1,000's of international students fighting to get accepted there, IMO will make a killing with all this new students visas

yes, because they gave up to the Japs without a fight. Not quite so nobel when you remind them of that.  Never colonised (not true by the way, Burma did for them centuries ago) , just collaborators.
