Trump campaign rallies to start up again in next two weeks

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump plans to start holding campaign rallies again in the next two weeks, a Trump campaign official said on Monday, ending a three-month hiatus brought on by the coronavirus pandemic.

Trump, who thrives on the energy from packed arenas, has not held a rally since March 2 in Charlotte, North Carolina, and aides describe him as chomping at the bit to get out and start campaigning again ahead of the Nov. 3 U.S. presidential election.

It was unclear exactly when or where Trump's first rally will be and the official, confirming a report in Politico, said safety measures for attendees were still being worked out.

Campaign manager Brad Parscale is to present the president with some options in the next few days. In a statement, Parscale predicted Trump rallies will surpass those of Democrat Joe Biden, whose campaigning has also been sharply curtailed due to the virus.

Trump is under pressure to reverse his tumbling prospects for re-election and is counting on a rebound in the U.S. economy, which was rocked by the global pandemic. He also is grappling with mass protests that erupted after African-American George Floyd died in police custody.

A number of public opinion polls show Biden with a lead over Trump in nationally and in some of the battleground states where the election will be decided.

Trump's political advisers, however, see active Republican enthusiasm for his candidacy based on a record of victories by the 64 party candidates he has endorsed in special elections since the 2018 midterms.

In the ever present leftist hypocrisy zone, they will try to force these rallies to closed to feed their ridiculous virtue signaling masses of woke justice warriors that so arrogantly think they get to decide who can say what and who they are allowed to support and what ideas they are allowed to have.

All disguised in a hypocritical bubble of preaching diversity and "inclusion".... As long as it is their ideological beliefs only.

These same people will use violence and intimidation to try and frighten anyone who wants to attend a Trump rally all the way through the election.

The left hoists itself up on a phony platform of moral and intellectual superiority while encouraging these violent hateful tactics to silence people who disagree with their opinions.

A truly disgusting level of hypocrisy

Yes quite right, the fact that Donald Trump stands holding a Bible trying to please his evangelical following is absolute hypocrisy.

Here you have a poor excuse of a man who has broken just about every one of the commandments in this book, plus a few others that aren't mentioned, yet simple minded Americans stand there with a T-shirt mentioning Jesus and trump, not realising that one is the antithesis of the other.

Only in America and only from the simpleminded.

Yes. We already know 45 won't tolerate distancing at his rallies. An interesting thing to watch is what percentage will be masked. That's because due to 45's toxicity masks have become a political wedge issue so that wearing masks is seen by 45 fans as signaling opposition to 45.

Ironically 45 will get a pass to start his rallies sooner because all the mass protests now have already broken the taboo of mass gatherings.

I think Trump rallies are a great idea. I hope they are packed with his supporters.

Forget about social distancing or masks. Hug each other, kiss each other, be happy together.

If they do that often enough and long enough then the DEMs don't have to worry about how many people will be left to vote for Trump.

It's a win/win situation.

Do you think POTUS should call out the Army and the National Guard and shoot them with rubber bullets or tear gas?

No doubt he will be adequately protected and have his medical aides testing him daily while his supporters will have to fend for themselves. What a selfless leader. All about him.

Must be frustrating for all you lefties , unable to criticise and abuse  Trump for holding rallys that may spread the virus .

They might have maga facemasks. That would be a compromise. I also reckon if it does have selected audience members closely surrounding it that they'll be subject to quickie Covid-19 tests.

But nothing can ever top #plaidshirtguy.

'Violence and intimidation'? Have you seen these rallies? It'll be a brave man who tries to use violence and intimidation against a bunch of gun-toting, angry Trump fans. They're not exactly known for their tolerance and pacifist tendancies.

For all I care, he can hold them daily!

Oh...wait...that's what he did, but he disguised them as "press briefings"!

Before Covid he was a lock.

Now with that and the BLM movement some unappealing ( trying to be nice) things about him have obviously been exposed.  He is way down in the polls today 38%.

Biden seems confused and low energy lacking a leadership presence.

Out of what, 200 million or so adults in the US it is left with these 2 guys?

Totally embarrassing.
