What ever people think of Churchill he is credited as stopping the Nazis, had he failed I am afraid that there would not be many black people around today, ironic as it is

I was under the impression ,

British foot soldiers, aka Cannon fodder .

Fought and many died to win the war..

BLM London have cancelled their protest for this Saturday in Hyde Park citing security concerns with far right groups present. But anti-fascist groups, momentum and other BLM supporters are still meeting in Hyde Park. On Friday there is a BLM march from Marble Arch to Downing Street. Clash of the titans coming up.

Maybe , just maybe , the silent Socialists will be there .

Corbyn , Neil K. and the new wonder boy, K Stargazer, or something like that ..

The weather in London is looking good tomorrow so reckon this should kick off nicely.

This is a feeble attempt to dichotomise the situation with false issues - you are trying to make it a case of "if not one then the other" - which is a totally false approach.

I personally would prefer to end the slavery issues of today , 600 000 Africans in Africa still enslaved today .

We need to focus on them , un enslaving them , help them , rather than focusing on throwing statues in the river

Charity begins at home.  Modern slavery is alive and well in the UK on a massive scale.

Let's get our own house in order before moving on to foreign climes.  That applies to the burgeoning foreign aid budget which only enriches terrorists and despots.

Why try to dichotomise? - essentially it's the same issue,

Queen Victoria knew all about the slave trade. Should her statue come down?

Indeed. I've heard some horrible things about some English Kings as well. I suppose we better be prepared for lots of cleansing. Hey, didn't Prince Charles have an affair behind Diane's back?

Don't think there are any statues of Charles, though after he dies they may erect one in memory of the prince that held the record for the longest wait to be king of any royal heir. If mummy keeps going long enough it may be for the Prince of Wales that died of old age without becoming king.

LOL.

Concerning that a statue is left unguarded though. At least some razor wire around it.

What is it about these amateur movie makers that they can't keep the camera on the subject? Happens in all these phone VDOs.

I know it might not be entered for a Golden Globe Award, but in all fairness, the guy did all his own stunts, well stunt.

"Knew  all about" what is that supposed to mean?

By the time she came to the throne not only was the slave trade abolished but also slavery.. u der her, the ban was enforced by the navy and slavery was ended in all the British colonies.

what you are attempting is a feeble argument that suggests if one why not all.

The argument is not that at all....the argument is that the REAL history should be both understood and acknowledged and statues that glorified such things as slavery should be identified and the public made aware of history...something that you clearly aren't.

I would even question the motivation of critics of these protests....why are they do keen suddenly yo preserve imagery of a history of which they are so clearly unaware?

Sorry Airbag, or is it Will. I wasn't trying to start an argument, it was more a tongue in cheek remark. I watched every episode of Victoria on telly, loved it, she was quite sexy actually.   PML
