I need to have my daughters birth certicate translated into english at Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Bangkok.

Is it possible to get it translated within a few hours or does it take days?

Do I need to book an appointment in advance or can we just show up at MoFA before opening hours?

Hey

From experience:

Translation can be done at an office near the MFA and recognised by the latter.

I guess with a little extra you can get it very fast (as in less that half an hour ) as they are the same documents for everyone

You can get to the MFA in the morning and have it legalised in the afternoon

I would advise you to go to the MFA located near Klong Toei as it is faster and the service is greater than at the main branch

But please make sure that they are open for business

Feel free to contact me for further details

Great

The translation service is right outside the exit of the MRT

Small shop

Efficient (400 baht or so per certificate )

Personally I always have my documents made in two samples (legalised as well just in case, considering the cost)
