Well there was no official form before. The Thai embassy in Washington had no idea about the process. They have clarified and streamlined the process now. I'm just informing others who have a work permit or can get a work permit. So they don't need to exchange and phone them up a few times to avoid the hassle I went through.

Thank you for the update.

I wonder why only the embassy has posted the streamlined form but not the consulates.

I'm in the US now. I have a valid work permit  but my non b expired. I am applying for certificate of entry into the Kingdom. Should I get hearth insurance or travel insurance? What are the acceptable insurance companies? plans?

Do I have to buy a ticket to Thailand before applying? I've called the Thai Embassy in DC several times but have never actually spoken to a person. The emails I get from the embassy are pretty vague.

The way I read the OP, the application procedure for the visa has been updated. Previously, the application had to be submitted by email, now by filling out a form on their website.

That's not what OP said.

Hello,

My Thai National wife is desperately trying to get back to Thailand (Nong Khai) to take care of very ill parents.  She used this form.  I am not sure everyone can use it, but she did get a quick email response.

It's LONG URL!!   I believe it can be used by someone with work permit.  Just add information and comments about your situation into the big text box.

A terrible situation. I hope she is quickly given a place on a repatriation flight, but fear that she is unlikely to be granted a compassionate exemption from quarantine rules.
