10-vehicle pile-up in Nonthaburi causes huge traffic jam

A 10-vehicle smash-up in Nonthaburi caused a traffic jam stretching for several kilometres all the way to the Sombat Buri Market entrance after the pile-up blocked all inbound lanes on Kanjanapisek Road in Bang Yai district near the exit of Central West Gate department store yesterday (Sunday) afternoon.

Navy dismisses claim to Plutaluang land set for low-income housing

Capt. Chalermporn Klaythong, director of the Sattahip Naval Base’s Real Estate Division, led military personnel and local officials to the 80-rai property in the Plutaluang foothills for a survey.

 

The Royal Thai Navy has dismissed the legitimacy of a claim laid to land in Plutaluang and will proceed to build low-income housing there.

Students returning from other provinces face 14-day quarantine

Students who return to Samut Sakhon from other provinces will be quarantined for 14 days before being allowed to rejoin schools, which will open nationwide on July 1. Other provinces are likely to follow suit, in line with government rules.

Young Lopburi motorcyclist voices thrill of high-speed riding, dies 2 hours later

A 21-year-old Lopburi motorcyclist was killed in a high-speed crash today (June 15) – merely two hours after posting on Facebook that “[riding a motorbike] alone is the best, I can go as fast as I wish”.

Excitement as rare crab found on Maya Bay Beach

The Puu Kai (chicken crab) or “hairy leg” mountain crab has made a rare appearance on closed Maya Bay Beach, Phi Phi Island, much to the excitement of conservationists – the first time in ten years that this crustacean has been spotted.
