Heavy restrictions on bars might mean that people won’t bother to turn up.

 

The excitement that the government may allow niteries to open their doors on July 1 has been water-doused by some of the proposed regulations to minimize the chances of Covid-19 spreading once again. A principal grievance is that restaurants – already reopened and allowed to serve alcohol with meals – appear to have more flexibility than that envisaged for bars and clubs.

Phuket Passport Office to move to Central Festival

Subdistrict, village headmen to be awarded with special bonus

A Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha today (June 23) approved a motion to pay subdistrict and village headmen a special bonus instead of a yearly salary adjustment to boost the morale of local administration officials in helping carry out the government’s policies in this Covid-19 situation.

DPM Wissanu hints that emergency decree may not be extended

It is appears unlikely that the state of emergency will be extended, when the associated executive decree expires at the end of this month. Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Krea-ngarm said this morning (Tuesday) that the issue of extending the decree was not among the agenda for discussion by the Cabinet today.
