Hua Hin’s iconic Railway Hotel to reopen doors on July 1

Guests will return to Hua Hin’s oldest and grandest beachside hotel next week as the Centara Grand emerges from three months of lockdown. Also known as the Railway Hotel, the century-old wooden edifice in opulent gardens will reopen its doors on July 1, with a safety guarantee provided by the Tourist Authority of Thailand’s “Amazing Thailand Safety and Health” certificate.

Thailand: 'home to outstanding businesses'

Over the past four decades Thailand has made remarkable progress in social and economic development, moving from a low to upper income country in less than a generation. And this has translated into strong growth for Thai equities. Over 20 years to 29 May 2020, the Stock Exchange of Thailand made a total return of 1,270 per cent or 14 per cent a year. By contrast, over same period the FTSE All-Share index made a total return of 124 per cent, or 4 per cent a year.

Somkid comes up with new policy to ‘energise’ Thai economy

Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak called on state enterprises to make smart investments that make money and can help the economy.

 

At a meeting held to discuss economic stimulus measures with the Energy Ministry, Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak came up with an “energy to create Thailand” policy for state enterprises such as PTT and the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (Egat) to follow.

Siriraj Hospital trials 5G driverless vehicle for new medical era

BMTA to relax social distancing practice in buses from July 1

The Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA) will ease social distancing measures on public buses when lockdown measures are eased further in the fifth phase, and to accommodate the increase in commuters after schools reopen on July 1.

Nineteen bikes and taxi damaged as delivery vehicle mounts footpath In Pathum Thani

Naew Na reported that Klong Luang police in Pathum Thani north of Bangkok were called after a converted Vigo delivery vehicle sideswiped a taxi and mounted the footpath damaging 19 motorcycles.
