YAH ICE DEALERS NABBED BY PATTAYA POLICE

The Pattaya Police, responding to a tip off, managed to successfully nab a drug gang, who were selling Yah Ice and Yah Bah, in Pattaya 3rd Road. They also managed to recover guns and ammunition from on of the gang members.

At 01.30 am, on 19th April 2007, Pol.Col. Suthin Sapphuang, Superintendent of Pattaya Police, was tipped off about an imminent drug transfer in front of a massage parlour in Moo 9, Pattaya 3rd Road. A team commanded by Pol.Maj. Chaikrit Thong-In accordingly rushed to the scene to attempt to pre-empt the transfer and arrest the gang.

There they found a suspicious looking woman wandered about the area. Confronting her and demanding to search her person, the police found 2 bags of Yah Ice, weighing approximately 1.3 grams in her trouser pocket. The woman, Mrs. Prapai Wong, nicknamed “Mam” (36), living in Poeng Sub-Province, Banglamung, confessed to having bought Yah Ice (methamphetamine) from Mr.Karn Keawsawang, (37) the dealer, who lives on the 3rd Floor of Sugar Home Apartment, behind “Mooche” Karaoke, Pattaya 3rd Road.

The police then rushed to the location and upon searching Mr.Karn’s room, found 5 grams of Yah Ice in 5 clear plastic bags. Mr. Karn was then arrested, and coming down from his apartment, the police noticed some suspicious looking teenagers standing by the side of a green Isuzu D-max truck in the parking area of “Mooche” Karaoke. Searching in the truck, the police found 18 .38 mm. bullets inside the driver’s door.

Also in a bag beside the driver’s seat, they found a further 0.6 grams of Yah Ice and 48 Yah Bah (amphetamine) tablets. When police questioned Mr. Ithisak Sangmeechai, nicknamed “Sing”, (20) from Bang Saray, the owner of the truck, he confessed that all the drugs and the ammunition in the truck belonged to him. The suspicious teenagers were tested for drug use, 5 of whom proved positive. All of them confessed to having taken Yah Ice before going to Mooche Karaoke. They were all arrested and charged with drug abuse.
