(Reuters) - A shooting at a Walmart distribution center in Red Bluff, California, killed at least two people and injured four others late on Saturday, officials said.

The incident started around 3:30 pm Pacific Time, according to the office of the local sheriff.

Tehama County's assistant sheriff said the attacker circled the center's parking lot four times before crashing his vehicle into the building and opening fire with a semi-automatic rifle.

The shooter killed an employee before police officers shot and killed the attacker.

A shooting at a Walmart distribution center in Red Bluff, California, killed at least two people and injured four others late on Saturday, officials said. Freddie Joyner has more.

The authorities identified the employee as Martin Haro-Lozano, 45, of Orland, California.

Walmart said it was aware of the situation and was working with law enforcement authorities.

"We are deeply saddened by this tragic incident", the company said in a statement.

"This is an active police investigation and we will continue to work with Tehama County Sheriff's Office and assist in their investigation in any way possible", it added.

The injured were taken to Red Bluff's St. Elizabeth Community Hospital.

Local media said the Tehama County Sheriff's Office is conducting a criminal investigation with assistance from the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

Red Bluff is a city of about 14,000 people located around 130 miles (210 kilometers) north of Sacramento, California.

Do you know something the rest of us don't? There is no mention anywhere that the shooter, Louis Lane (Clark Kent was nowhere to be seen), was an ex employee.

RIP, mr. Haro-Lozano.

Are you serious? You don't think it's an disgruntled ex-employee? I'll bet my bottom dollar it is.

And Trump in turn will instantly blame Obama and Biden.

What Trump won't do, is to crack down on gun possession in the USA.

Doesn't  really  matter does it because with no guns they turn to knives as in the UK, same result.

Did Obama and Biden?

Or any previous POTUS and parliament?

That's because a very large amount of people don't think banning the vast majority because of the lunacy of a tiny minority is acceptable. Ask the people of London how Mayor Khan's crack down on knife possession is working.

If the police are defunded, the police wouldn't have shown up and stopped the shooter. Pretty obvious and important connection.

But, but ... the police were not defunded and they did show up.

Mass shootings of perhaps 5 to 50 or more people by one person using an automatic rifle (war weapon) can and do happen regularly.

Mas knifings of perhaps 5 to 50 or more people rarely happen at all.
