Thai media 77kaoded reported that the resort of Bang Saen in Chonburi was packed solid with visitors on Sunday.

The beach is particularly popular with Thais, notes Thaivisa.

The traffic was very bad from the Sukhumvit Road turnoff all the way along the beach.

The maximum parking number on the beach was reached and people found themselves split up and looking for places on the second road back.

Local police said it was exceptionally busy.

The media suggested that parents were taking their children out before the much awaited and delayed start of term begins for most children on Wednesday.

The tourist police in Bang Saen reminded people that there was a drinking ban on the beach and people should not drink and drive. They too noted that the area had been very busy.

...but did nothing to enforce social distancing.

If there were fifty in a bar like that, plod would have be all over them, smelling a money-making opportunity.

Having said that, I thought they had been pouncing on ferangs on Pattaya beach, or is that all over now?

Ah, the beach drinking ban. Useless, as the 7/11s across the road sell alcohol. The beach vendors happily supply ice, cups and food to go with it.

Why in all honesty would you need 1 35 days now without a internal transmission, where would you catch it!

they aren't testing anyone so how would they know, very easy to claim no transmissions or detections nobody actually knows do they

It's like saying saying there are no drunk drivers on Thai roads but we aren't actively checking
