Where Do The Posts Go?

Featured Replies

I get emails from forums that I have subscribed to but when I click on the link ie.

http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=116986

I end up with a message that the link is broken.

Is there any way to find the topic? Can it be done automatically so when a topic is moved the original link will still send you to the new location somehow?

Thanks

Mike

Can it be done automatically so when a topic is moved the original link will still send you to the new location somehow?

Normally, when a thread is moved to a different sub-forum a link remains from the original location to the new one.

The forum database actually records topics by numberical sequence, not location, so links should work after the thread has been moved.

If however a thread has been moved without a link, or is deleted, then an error message will be the result.

I'll do a bit of a search around to see if I can find that particular topic for you.

/Edit - hmmm... I can't seem to find it anywhere... the previous and subsequent topics can be found but that particular one is non-existent.

Islam: if shit happens, it is the will of Allah

Catholicism: if shit happens, you deserve it

Judaism: why does this shit always happen to us?

Atheism: I don't believe this shit
