Popular Post problemfarang
Ok... now everyone in thailand is talking about amnesty. We will have another one or not. nothings clear and we have only 2 weeks left. I know many people staying and living in thailand rightfully BUT also many people using tricks and magical ways to stay. I know many people deserved to stay and many not. But amnesty is actually not the solution. It can really help only if Thailand let people to stay UNTIL no covid all around the world or really really very safe to fly back to your country. Thats the end. Are they going to do that? If they or people want a solution right now before covid ends... its actually really easy. Now at this point first i will talk about tourists who are really stuck here. Why they or their embassy contact with their government and arrange a flight to come and take them? This kind of flight seen in many cases. 1 flight in 2-3 days would solve all the problems. Because we all know thai government dont want TR visas stay here. But they are also aware that TR visas spend money as long as they stay here instead of tourists visiting thailand but cant visit now. But i really think this problem could be solved. Here another question comes.. Thailand wants to help people who stuck here because most likely their own coutry is dangerous and people are dying because of covid and thailand want to protect them? well, no need to say but i think who lives in thailand for 10 and more than 10 years know the answer is no. We know this from all the procedures we have to go along for our even easiest paper works. and im not even mentioning many IO funny stuff. So whats the solution, really easy: If thailand really care about the human life stuck here they could say hey, we arranged a meeting with your government and decided that they will send a flight here and take you back to home, but just because we care human life we are giving you an option of staying here but pay 1900 baht every month till its safe to go.. or go back with that plane to your home. If you accept to stay here, we are sorry but no more travelling but just local places (well you must pay the price of surviving the covid) Thats all! Now, for the non-o visas.. For the people who could extend for 1 year... no problem. Great. But for the ones using single or multi.. They could say ok you are here to visit your family or likewise using 1 month or multi non-o visa. So we have a solution for you. Pay 1000 baht for a month (because if im not mistaken 1000 for single non-o) till its safe to go. Or we are giving you the option to extend your non-o without any serious problems if you can. Again your only allowed to travel your local area. Thats all! For Non-o retirement... again if we think thailand thinking about the human lives, they could say.. ok guys we already know you earned your staying in thailand because you already have income or money in the bank. So lets continue doing that. Just obey the rules (money in the bank or show income as usual) we are all good... Thats all! For other visas such as Ed and likewise.. its the same thing. So this kind of amnesty really would help people. Or staying in thailand for another 1 or 2 months will change nothing. Covid will not end in 2-3 months... And the visa regulations wont get easier or be the same as before. or there wont be any more 14 days quarantine. or no more $100.000 insurance nonsense, etc. i just wanted to share my opinion. Im pretty sure i said many funny or wrong things but in my mind most of them make sense.. what do you think? thanks 4 1
Popular Post Bangkok Barry
You tink too mutt. Wait and see what the government announces. All this speculation in several different threads a day is completely pointless. No-one knows anything yet, and anything is possible. Whatever hoops they want us to jump through, or not, we do what they want. As I wrote yesterday, with people unable to leave and more importantly return, I doubt they will exploit the situation and hold everyone to ransom. If they do, you can be certain that it will be blogged and reported around the world and further leave Thailand's image and their treatment of foreigners in the mud. My bet is they won't do that.
pixelaoffy
Why would image be in mud for not extending right to stay without visa? Tell me how many other countries that have have allowed foreigners to stay who would normally need to remain with a visa? Only circumstances should be if no flights, not to do that well worn phrase a 'border run' Edited July 15, 2020 by pixelaoffy 1

bestie
Quote (well you must pay the price of surviving the covid) Thats all! Well this might be true if Covid isn't knocking on our doors in Thailand. You can't predict the future but I can read you have a lot of trust that the Virus will not gone around here one day like in Europe or the US. I wouldn't bet on it. Sure right now it isn't? but it can change quickly and maybe if people decided to leave now it could be that they are in a way better position. Because then you really stuck here. And forget to going to the Immigration every month if the virus is here. We will see what will happen. I like your thoughts and opinion.
Popular Post clorox
my opinion is 1900 all around for one month until everything come back to normal, immigration makes money, you can extend every month, win win fore verybody, what ever foreigner they have left is still better then none, time like this is best to let people stay in one place.

Jack Hna
This wait is worst than the cave boys saga last year. Waking up everyday reaching for my phone looking for news on this. Nothing makes sense in not saying anything. Must be something being done that's different. 2 month amnesty with commercial contingency plan as this is not ending in 2 months. Bangkok post writes about Richard Barrow and this is going on. Seriously bad timing. Farang need to be in press for right reasons and he chooses to poke his head up and discuss the 2 price system at a time when tourism is completely shafted anyway and attends some expats meeting blurting this tosh out instead of the ongoing issues surrounding farang in Thailand. So there no space left for the real issues on the BKK post as farang issues already covered by Mr look at me Barrow. 2
Phillip9
It will actually help a lot if they extend amnesty another month or two. New countries are opening up to tourists every day. For example, Maldives opened up yesterday, no quarantine required. In august, many more will open, some of them covid free and no quarantine required if coming from low risk countries like Thailand.
