Popular Post bbabythai Posted July 21, 2020 Popular Post Posted July 21, 2020 I'm middle aged and decided to do blood tests for general check up. I have experienced low libido, low energy and poor sleep for a while. I dont have the results on me at the moment but the testosterone reading at the top of the list was in normal range. But the free testosterone was not. It was in the lower range. The dr prescribed me 50mg androgel sachets. Im in 2 minds whether I should take it or not. I read great reviews on various forums from guys taking it. A friend of mine in thailand who is 20 yrs my senior is on injections and he thinks its great. But then I read the urologytimes website which implies that if one ever stops taking it, the recovery from the 'drug-induced low T may be highly symptomatic and prolonged- severe depression etc. Testicular function may never return even to its pre-treatment baseline. Also many men are unaware that TRT shuts down a mans natural production of the hormone often causing the testosterone producing cells to stop working and his testicles to soften and shrink. I feel a bit scared to commence treatment even though I just paid 10k on a box of gel sachets. Anyone have any opinions on this big decision 3
Puchaiyank Posted July 21, 2020 Posted July 21, 2020 Sleep...contiguous hours of rest help regenerate your sense of wellbeing and power. If you have low "T"...recommend you restore levels under the care of a doctor... 2
Popular Post Bruce Aussie Posted July 21, 2020 Popular Post Posted July 21, 2020 Testoserone caps available at pharmacy. 900 baht 60 caps one a day within a month you be different person. Don't over look regular exercise. 3
Popular Post A1Str8 Posted July 21, 2020 Popular Post Posted July 21, 2020 TRT is great but has those side effects yes. If you don't want the sides, here's what you can do: eat more fat. The body makes hormones including test from fat. If more is available it will produce more. Don't eat junk, no alcohol, smoking etc. Those all lower test levels significantly. Don't eat meat or very little. It is well documented that vegetarians have higher test levels. Intense daily exercise. It's known to kick hormone production into high gear. Work hard. On anything. Nothing raises testosterone production as efficiently as the feeling of accomplishment! Whatever you do that makes you feel proud, strong, makes you feel like a man, signals the brain to tell the body to produce more T. 5 3

Popular Post sanuk711 Posted July 22, 2020 Popular Post Posted July 22, 2020 The gel sachets are not that effective, as the liver is great at cleaning up most stuff taken orally . In The USA most doctors have moved toward patches, but they to can also have draw backs. Injection IMO is the better way to take it......it not something you have to be scared of , or have to keep taking if you have a change of mind or it doesn't agree with you---or has no affect for you. You just stop. The Doctor feels it will help you...why not try it for a just month. Yes I have taken it (On & Off) for over 30 years.......... on & off because I have found myself living in places where "At the time" it was difficult to get, that's changed in most countries now. I am in my 70s 4
Popular Post bkk6060 Posted July 22, 2020 Popular Post Posted July 22, 2020 I took it for about a year. It did make some changes and I wanted sex 3 times a day. But, it was raising my PSA and Hematocrit was way off. My home country Doctor told me to stop taking it possible risk of stroke or heart attack. I understand everyone is different some have no side affects. I suggest get frequent blood checks. 4
Popular Post Pilotman Posted July 22, 2020 Popular Post Posted July 22, 2020 If you are over weight, have a poor diet, drink too much alcohol, smoke, or don't exercise, that can account for low energy and low libido. I too have contemplated taking the hormone, as I am older, but have the levels normally expected in man my age. However, after losing weight and getting fit, I have decided that I don't need it. What held me back was the very real risk of triggering Prostate Cancer, which is a real and growing threat in taking that hormone and in all older men. If it were me, I would say stay off it if you can and take other measures in your life. 7
Popular Post moe666 Posted July 22, 2020 Popular Post Posted July 22, 2020 What was your estrogen levels. You could be converting testosterone into estrogen, this happens as we age. You can purchase liquid zinc from iherb, take 2 droppers in a glass of water. Zinc blocks the amrotese enzyme that causes the conversion. Try this and then get your testostrone checked as well as the free. Also have your dht checked as well if it is high not good for the prostate. I have been on zinc and other testsotrone treatsments for 30 years and never had any problems but I do keep a close watch on my bosy as to what is working and what is not. You also need to understand most Doctors know very little about Hormone replacement therapy, unless this is the Dr. focus they will know only the usual reply, it is dangerous, it can have side affects, yes all this is true but if you have someone who is very good or have very good info on how to treat yourself. You cannot be lazy but it does work and has benefits. 3

I haven't taken those androgel before , I read that it might shrink your testicles and you would be dependent on them for the rest of your life. 2 1 1

Destiny1990 Posted July 22, 2020 Posted July 22, 2020 Another side effect i heard about supplementing t is that it nearly diminishes the sperm fluids. Maybe check vit d levels and or look for alternative ways the raise T. Often doctors who sell t-sups will easily recommend it while other doctors that dont sell t-sups are much more conservative.
Popular Post tweedledee2 Posted July 22, 2020 Popular Post Posted July 22, 2020 I started TRT almost 7 years ago. My initial testosterone level test result showed 219 ng/dl. My Dr prescribed AndroGel 1.62% in a pump dispenser @ 2 pumps, 1 to each shoulder daily. Six weeks later my level was 339 ng/dl. After 6 months, my level was 697 ng/dl and my Dr instructed me to use only 1 pump a day. For almost the last 5 years while living in Thailand, I have been using Androgel sachets. Annual tests results since show my level in the low 500's ng/dl. 4

Popular Post holymoly Posted July 22, 2020 Popular Post Posted July 22, 2020 I am nearly ninety but do exers very regularly and have been taking half portions of Androgel for a while. Since my testo readings are low docotor encourages me to take Amdrogel regularly. I have taken Androgel for longtime, sometimes forgetting for a week or and then stopping and starting again. I feel okay either way. My libido is not very reliable anymore, Androgel or not. Anyway, don't be afraid. A younger friend of mine has been giving himself a regular shot in this ass. He is as healthy as a bull. But if your Testo level is still okay, why take more. Go do some solid exers in a good gym or run, or..... 3
Popular Post allanos Posted July 22, 2020 Popular Post Posted July 22, 2020 Have your cholesterol level checked. If it falls within a "normal" zone, then boost your intake of either whole eggs or egg yolks. Eggs are full of cholesterol and also have the best "bioavailability" of all of the proteins. Testosterone is derived from cholesterol which is, however, largely produced naturally at night during sleep. 2 1
jaf3 Posted July 22, 2020 Posted July 22, 2020 I would recommend taking the Nebido injection every three months - it is time-released and does not risk giving you the angry episodes and mood swings that you may get from the daily medication. My clinic charges around 9000 for an injection that is good for 3 months. 1

They work really well with no apparent side effects!
Thomas J Posted July 22, 2020 Posted July 22, 2020 I am on the injections I self inject once a month. Get at Facino pharmacy. I stay away from the pills I read where the pills are substantially more side effects.
Popular Post NightSky Posted July 22, 2020 Popular Post Posted July 22, 2020 Before starting TRT you have to be very careful to ensure that a doctor has your best health interests first rather than their own/employers financial interests first. You mentioned your testosterone level was in normal range but your free t isn't - I'm no doctor but in my own opinion this usually means that you are producing enough testosterone but for some reason more may be binding to SHBG molecules in your blood or converting to estrogen. So your doc can explore reasons for this and attempt to resolve the underlying reason. In addition boosting your t levels naturally with exercise, diet, weight loss and lifestyle choices would be my first option. I had low t and it turned out to be caused by a vitamin d deficiency. I supplement vitamin d as well as other vitamins and minerals and I apply all the healthy lifestyle options above and I feel great -my testosterone is also in mid normal range every time i get tested every 6 months. Thats good enough for me. Before I did my research I was tempted by many ads and forums to go the TRT route - nothing against TRT at all although Im glad I did my research and saw a decent endochrinologist, so that I have at least delayed that requirement for now. Do your research. Best of luck. 3
