rooster59
Interior Ministry scheme to employ more than 30,000 in rural areas By THE NATION The Interior Ministry will offer over 30,000 positions to help people in rural areas who have become unemployed due to the Covid-19 situation, Interior Minister General Anupong Paochinda said on Saturday (July 25). “Two projects that the ministry had proposed to the Cabinet were approved on July 21. The Ministry of Finance has been asked to provide the budget,” he said. These projects are: 1. Local volunteers for underprivileged elders project, to be carried out with a budget of Bt1.08 billion for 12 months. Local administration organisations in each province will hire 15,548 local people to take care of elderly persons in their communities. Each will be paid a salary of Bt5,000 per month. The project is expected to run from July 2020 to September 2021 and should also help provide skill training to those who wish to work in a healthcare-related field in the future. 2. The tambon smart team project, which aims to hire local staff to collect census data for the ministry’s integrated database system. The project has a Bt2.7-billion budget and will also last 12 months with 7,255 tambon (districts) nationwide hiring two staff to carry out the task, totalling 14,510 candidates. Each person will be paid a salary of Bt15,000 per month. The project is expected to run from August 2020 to October 2021. “The ministry is committed to helping Thai people who have been affected by the Covid-19 situation by providing jobs and stimulating the local economy under the new normal standard,” said Anupong. “The ministry vows to work in a transparent manner to ensure efficient usage of the budget allotted for these projects.” Source: https://www.nationthailand.com/news/30391931 -- © Copyright The Nation Thailand 2020-07-26 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow Thaivisa on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates

Popular Post Brunolem
This scheme is already dead in the water. At tambon level, the totally corrupt local authorities (obotor and the likes) will hire their wives or children to collect the 15,000 baht per month, and the population will never hear about, and benefit from this project.

Just forgot pyramid in front of it. 27 minutes ago, colinneil said: Well thats my first good laugh of the day, to work in a transparent manner. Yes, he will do. Only thing is that the meaning of that is not same as you are used to, Colin. He simply means that it´s so transparent that it´s totally invisible to the naked eye. ???? 1

As with any project of this kind, there will be big pompous launching meetings, with plenty of talking... and then the whole scheme will sink into oblivion, but the salaries will remain...

Popular Post connda
The rural areas haven't been hit like the cities and tourist locations. It's pretty much business as usual out in the sticks. With that said, it's always nice to have BKK funnel money into the local coffers. Makes for a change of pace for some of the locals. Instead of breaking your back planting rice you can take care of granny Tu for slave wages. Keeps ya out of the sun though. FYI. I understand what people are willing to work for out here in the boonies. That 5000 THB / month isn't going to get someone to take care of granny Tu 8 hours a day 7 days a week. The assumption is that there is a lack of work out here in rural Thailand. There is not. Why do you think Myanmar migrant laborers are hired? There is plenty of work, but, even Thais aren't going to do the super-menial, low-paying grunt work. 5000 THB / month will get granny Tu some part-time assistance and that's about it. Maybe 3 hours of work a day. That will pad someones income while the still do their day job. Edited July 26, 2020 by connda

ChrisY1
And just how many "ghosts" at Thb5000/month would this minister believe that this scheme needs to be viable...to him? Work transparently??? This guy does not know the meaning of this word...it would be completely alien to him!
