 I'm sorry you don't understand, but I don't see how I can put it any clearer. But I will make another attempt.

 

Had I not accepted the result in 2016 I would have joined the protests and calls for a second vote then. But I didn't.

 

What I and many others are calling for now is not a referendum to overturn that vote per se, but one in which we can decide our future in the full knowledge of what the final Brexit deal, or no deal, means for that future. Accept the deal, or not.

 

Referenda are not the UK way, we are, after all, a representative, Parliamentary democracy and at the end of the day a referendum violates the sovereignty of Parliament. That principle of Parliamentary sovereignty means the results of referenda in the UK cannot be legally binding and even if the result is put into practice, Parliament can at any time reverse it.

 

Those who bang on about sovereignty, take note.

 

But they do happen; there have been three UK wide such in my lifetime.

 

Once the principle of holding referenda has been accepted, which it has been, then there is no reason why others cannot be held; even one proposing overturning the result of a previous one. Which, after all, is just what the 2016 referendum did when it effectively asked if the result of the 1975 one should be overturned!

 

I agree that the EU has not caused the UK to be a hellhole, which is why I asked @Lormak why he thought it had.

 

The rest of your post seems to be about the untrustworthiness of politicians. To paraphrase Orwell: all politicians are liars, but some are more liars than others.

 

As for "rematch/replay ain't a sound way of running a modern country - me thinks" I disagree. To take that to it's logical conclusion would mean doing away with elections and hence democracy altogether!

What astounds me is how some people manage to cross the road at any time given that it must be laden with catastrophic consequences.

 

I Export and my wife Imports, should I be worried about leaving the EU, possibly, but I won’t, I’ll just see any changes as a challenge and work around or with them. I might (will) even see the change in a positive light and along with my suppliers in the UK realise that up until C-19, business was good.

 

However some people are born to be negative. It reminds me of the local TV news in the UK in the 70’s. The film crews would turn up at the gates of a large factory where 200, 300 or 500 (the bigger the number the more sensational) and interview people being made redundant.

 

I can still recall some of the responses. Not untypical was ‘I’ve worked here for 50 years. What am I going to do now. This is devastating’

 

No hint of, ‘well I’ve had a good run, now I’m looking forward to doing something different and exciting’.

 

No wonder a lot of posters on here find problems obtaining visas, opening bank accounts or loading credit on their phones.

Still, as you lock the door for the last time you will be able to say to yourself "Well I had a good run now I will be able to find something more exciting to do. Like picking fruit and vegetables on a local farm". 

What you describe as being negative many of us call being realistic.

Because its what the evidence is pointing to.

Even the government are telling businesses and the NHS to stockpile in order to overcome the expected disruption come January.

The poster I was answering makes many posts encouraging everyone to work harder and get behind Brexit in order to make it a success. 

I was simply pointing out his hypocrisy as he posts from several thousand miles from the UK. If he feels so strongly about Brexit and everyone working hard maybe he should practice what he preaches. 

In fact all you Brexiteers should probably return to the UK in order to help.
