Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has ordered relief and rescue units to the northeastern province of Loei, to help flood victims and evacuate those in hard-hit areas, as tropical storm Sinlakul, which made landfall in Vietnam this morning, lashes many parts of Thailand with heavy rain.

 

Flash floods have swept through several villages in Muang and Pak Chom districts since Saturday night, inundating roads and low-lying areas.

 

In Ban Soob village of Muang district, about 300 houses were flooded after heavy rainfall in 14 districts of Loei province on Saturday night. Strong flash flooding tore down several utility poles, cutting power and phone lines to Ban Soob village.

Yes, I have never seen loei river rise and flow so fast in the 10 years I have lived there, must have risen 8 meters in 8 hours
