At home I use Firefox and love it,

but it does not work in the office.

It looks as though the office proxy is blocking access

as the company is very MS oriented.

Is there any way to make Firefox look like IE??

Thanks

OK. I downloaded it, but cannot see how to install?

Sorry

It will be a .xpi file. Just drag it (the file) from the explorer directory and drop it on top of firefox (anywhere in the ff window).

Sounds good, except that FF says it is not valid install package.........

Sounds like the download did not complete successfully. The file name should be ietab-1.3.2.20070404-fx+fl+mz-windows.xpi Also, if you click on the 2nd download site it should actually automatically install without having to download. You may get a message banner at the top of firefox blocking the install, just click on it and add the site for auto install.

IEtab will unfortunately not solve your problem, it will just run IE in a firefox window, no additional firefox benefits at all.

You could try Opera, it is similar to firefox and has similar functionality (without all the great plugins) and you can set it to report out whatever browser you want. They have caught MicroSoft sending out badly coded pages to non-IE browsers in this way, the MS sites were detecting the browser and sending bad code if it wasn't IE, making the browsers look broken.

But simply changing Opera to report as IE the page worked fine with the same rendering engine....

Thanks Vic.

UserAgent did load, but did not resolve the problem.

It may be a problem in FF as I cannot use my own Net Shield proxy either.

I guess I have to live with IE7 in the office
