Roi-Et governor on the scene as flooding inundates 500 rai of farmland

The governor of Roi-Et in Thailand's north east was on the scene directing relief operations after the Lam Nam Yang tributary in Lao Noi in Selaphum district burst its banks. 

Wanchai Khongkasen yesterday ordered sandbags to be deployed and water to be diverted to a reservoir after 500 rai of farmland in the area was flooded. 

The reservoir has the capacity to handle extra water though the ongoing threat of tropical storm Higos was a concern.
