Popular Post webfact
Trump's physician denies president had a stroke in November U.S. President Donald Trump talks to reporters prior to boarding Air Force One as he departs Washington on travel to Illinois and Wisconsin at Joint Base Andrews, Maryland, U.S., September 1, 2020. REUTERS/Leah Millis WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump did not have a stroke and remains healthy, his physician said on Tuesday in response to a new book suggesting Vice President Mike Pence was put on standby to assume presidential powers during a sudden Trump medical visit last year. In the book, titled "Donald Trump v. The United States," New York Times reporter Michael Schmidt writes that word went out in the West Wing around the time of the visit last November for the vice president to be on standby if Trump had to undergo a procedure that would require he be anesthetized, according to news outlets that obtained a copy. "I don't recall being told to be on standby," Pence said on Tuesday in an interview with Fox News. "I was informed that the president had a doctor's appointment," he said. Trump and his physician appeared to respond on Tuesday to author Don Winslow's posting on Twitter last month that Winslow had received three communications from administration whistleblowers that Trump had "a series of mini-strokes." "I can confirm that President Trump has not experienced nor been evaluated for a cerebrovascular accident (stroke), transient ischemic attack (mini stroke), or any acute cardiovascular emergencies, as have been incorrectly reported in the media," Dr. Sean Conley said in a statement. "The president remains healthy and I have no concerns about his ability to maintain the rigorous schedule ahead of him. As stated in my last report, I expect him to remain fit to execute the duties of the Presidency," Conley added. On Twitter, Trump also denied having suffered a series of mini-strokes. At the time, the White House described Trump's unexpected and unscheduled visit to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center as a start to his annual physical that included a quick exam and some laboratory tests. But the trip triggered questions on social media since it occurred months before the annual physical had been carried out in the past. Trump, known for his love of hamburgers and well-done steaks and an aversion to the gym, gained weight from his physical in 2017, pushing his body mass index into the obese category. Popular Post Poet
Sadly, I have personal experience of helping people who have suffered mini strokes. Trump's speech patterns, while not quite as sharp as in 2016, seem to reflect the regular wear n' tear of four stressful years at the age 74. While it is valid to question whether it is a good idea for anyone that old to run for the office of president, with a mini stroke you would be seeing far more disjointed sentences, some confusion, and a general lack of energy. EDIT: Just to be clear, with the above description I am not suggesting that Biden has suffered any mini strokes. The "point to an elephant and remember some words" test is not part of a normal checkup, its the test given after a stroke. 4
Popular Post Chomper Higgot
Trump has a long history of doctors misrepresenting the truth about the condition of his health. The observable truth is Trump has problems balancing, has problems with his limbs, exhibits difficulty pronouncing commonly used words and constructing simple sentences. He’s clearly not well and it is a legitimate concern of the electorate before an election. Trump’s response is a mixture of ridiculous explanations of his hospital visit, attacking those who report these concerns and of course projecting his visibly failing health onto his electoral opponent. 7 2

He has always had an unusual way of speaking - his sentence construction is unusual but apparently effective in stressing the points he wishes to convey. Lack of energy, hmmmm, I have to say that for someone in their 70s he has unusually high levels. I think his convention speech ran over an hour the other night. He talks a lot and, among all that output, you can certainly find confused moments but, for the most part, he is unusually cogent for his age. Again, I'm not sure that it is such a good idea to select someone that old to be president, he will be an astonishing 78 years old by the time his finishes his second term. All I am saying is that he is one of the most closely and critically watched US presidents in history and, yet, there is no point in the timeline at which we can note a sudden and sustained drop in his speaking ability, whereas we could in Reagan's second term. Trump seems, so far, to have experienced a natural decline and, overall, his levels appear to be more in line a man in his mid-sixties. Most men in their 70s simply wouldn't make it through a presidential campaign. 3 2 1

It is Trump himself who has inserted the question of his health into the news. No news outlets or newspapers were discussing Trump having suffered a stroke. Trump tweeted his denial of him having had a stroke when nobody was talking about such a thing. Had he not tweeted his denial it would not be in the news. This from a FOX journo throwing softball questions. She still had to guide him back to the plot multiple times. His classic was the tangent about planes filled with dark clothed antifa or worse flying around are nation. Its a q anon conspiracy theory or worse but Laura was terrified where it night go and desperately tried to change it up. This was even more strange than his famous Axios interview. He was always nasty, a liar, now he is getting plain bizarre. You wonder if during the debate it is Trump not Biden who loses the plot and raves about pizza parlors, Adrenochrome or whatever the latest republican conspiracy theories are. Could you please clarify what you are alleging here? Not sure how my questioning the ability of Trump to withstand, at his age, another four years of one of the most stressful jobs in the world is somehow "praising Trump". The man is 74 years of age! No one that old should be selected for a job that complex and vital to the nation. He might be fine today but, at any point during that four-year term, Trump could start showing signs of dementia and that would be an absolute disaster for America. How is it defaming Biden to say that he is avoiding exposure? That is a fact that everyone is fully aware of and all the leading Democrats agree is necessary. I stated that, in the current circumstances, it won't matter and that Biden is likely to win as long as they can keep the riots going and no vaccine emerges until after the election. Popular Post cmarshall
It can hardly be doubted that Trump has pronounced and progressive cognitive decline. The first clip is an excerpt of an interview from 1980 when Trump was 34. He speaks in complete sentences and makes his points coherently. He responds to the interviewer rather than just going off on a tangent. His ideas are the same vacuous sentiments he still holds, but the point is that he speaks at least like a college grad, if not an especially bright one. The second clip from Feb. 2020 about coronavirus shows Trump at his current level of incoherence. He rambles off the topic. His sentences are ungrammatical. On other occasions he gets words wrong like saying "oranges" for "origens" and, although his facial expression shows that he knows the word is wrong, he can't correct it. We can see many of the symptoms of dementia in Trump's speech such as incoherence, rambling without grammatical structure, impoverished vocabulary, along with rage and loss of balance. Trump's father had Alzheimer's. The range of symptoms from Alzheimer's is wide because it can affect any part of the brain and therefore the body. Trump has been a psychopath since childhood and that will not change, but his cognitive decline has developed late in his life. 2 1

His already noticed slurring of words, inability to construct full sentences, problems with balance and such simple tasks as drinking a glass of water are now fair game evidence of his underlying health issues. Going forward he will very reasonably be under close scrutiny for evidence of neurological problems. He, Donald Trump, invited this scrutiny. Well done that man.
