Underground toilets... Not only will be used as the above post says, but you better take your snorkel and flippers with you, just incase in rains when your down there.. ????

As with the toilets in Central and Royal Garden? Snorkel, not scuba gear? Sounds dangerous.

How about some cartoons? Maybe grab a few from some old Tunnel flooding threads. They were SO funny and made the point so well about what was going to happen. Hee.

Without a doubt, you are probably right.  Forward thinking and future planning isn't in the culture.

Neither is maintenance

Very nice

unfortunately with the actual increase of the homeless living on beach road

it will be instantly transformed in a free house by some of them

Not to keep kicking a dead horse.....

But for any one with 2 working brain cells there are ALREADY toilets across beach road......

How about spending a few thousand baht fixing them up .......

Spend a few more thousand baht for some signs on the promenade that say toilets this way......

Spend a few more thousand a month to rent them out so they are FREE...

Spend a few hundred a day to clean the toilets......

Finished JOB DONE.......

Total cost the first month 30-40,000 baht.....ALL IN.......

Total cost every month after about 10,000-15,000 baht or so......

Or let's spend $$$$$$ digging some retarded underground toilets on the beach...

Your option is probably the best

there is only one big problem

the ones in charge can not pocket thousands of $$$$ on a 15000 bahts\month budget

so to spend few millions on useless works is much better from their point of view

we can verify it in the Pattaya area on a daily basis, it's a work in progress since 30 years

for no improvment (Or very few and anecdotical) with billions of bahts throwing into it

(I wonder what % of the money goes really in the work, when i see some numbers and the

final result, it's just INSANE)

Good point. They could use a few more. Those could be added.

Getting to them means crossing that DEATH TRAP, however. Better just to soil one's knickers, eh? We'll never concede that any of the lights work or that anyone stops for them. Now, I dunno, but the Mayor, ever solicitous of TVF Posters' welfare and safety, seems to have in mind toilets easily accessible from the Promenade itself.

It's likely just all talk, so no need to get too flustered here.

You are right, the crossing of beach road by pedestrians is the problem, and the solution is easy

Do a ''Walking street'' with beach road, does cost nothing and will have only advantages

The city hall needs to stop to think like in the 60' and going all cement and all for the cars

we are in 2020 now, maybe it's time for the dinosaurs to evolve or they will disappear

If they build toilets it's not, IMO, for the benefit of tourists. Follow the money.

They removed all the old seats, that lasted 20 years, and now we get the new improved seats, and after 3 years, here is what they look like. City Hall certainly knows how to waste money.

Doesn't matter. There's always a few that will claim the new version is sooooooo much better than the old.
