Until then let us have a visa amnesty. Tourists trapped in Thailand are spending money. Expats without visa's are waiting to cross the border to renew their visa. Why create this panic which makes people desperate and looking for all means to find a solution to stay. It's just crazy. Lay off, we're going through a global pandemic, we'll sort our visas out when you open up your borders again. Wishful thinking

But you should also be aware that your ME Non Imm O marriage Visa validity till 13th March is irrelevant (and would only be of any use if the borders open before that date). What is relevant is the permission to stay stamped in your passport when you entered the Country. Obviously that permission to stay has already long-time expired and so you are now on the Amnesty permission to stay which ends 26 September. If the Cabinet should decide to once again extend the Amnesty for a 3rd time, you can continue relaxing. But if they don't do that, you will either have to go for one of the following options: - apply for a short-term or long-term extension of stay (in case you can still meet the requirements, as some options will not be possible anymore on such short notice); - apply for an Embassy supported 'special' extension of stay (in case you can get one, but possibly this would bar you from applying for any 'regular' extension afterwards); - engage an Agent to fix the Visa/permission to stay problem for you (some options are already not possible anymore on such short notice); - prepare to leave Thailand by 26 September (or you will be on overstay). I asked him if he'd got a new visa yet (his plan was to get a volunteer visa) but he said no, he was waiting to see what happens. He's expecting the government to extend the amnesty again, I guess. As I understand it, he's left it too late now to get a volunteer visa, he's in his forties and reasonably fit so I doubt he'd get a medical visa, and there are flights back to the UK every week so he can't get a letter from the embassy to say that he can't return. I wonder what his plan is now? Who cares, seems like a self made problem.

It does not state that at all. It reads > No matter when you come to extend your Visa, the permission date of all Visa types will start counting from September 27, 2020. It is also applicable for those presently applying for an extension of their 1-year extension of stay (in case their permission to stay expires before that date, the new 1-year extension will start from 27 September). Note: As usual there are also up-country IOs that didn't get the message and are still providing extensions from date of application. When confronted with such IO just show them the InfoGraphic (available in multiple languages from the Immigration website).

I’ve had enough - sick of everyone scamming me, recently medical expenses refused 150k, the tipping point was my wives dad selling my car! Yes really and kept the money....! I decided to not renew my ‘marrige’ VISA .. I’m having no love for ANYTHING Thai now including my wife and her continous and relentless scammer family. Not spoke either after the car incident ... so she does not even know Ive left...! There will be no bank transfers to this pack of thieves... I will never return to SE Asia again. In 4 days - from Friday to Monday , I was able arrange and pack ALL my possensions and ship, hand back my Condo in Bangkok and book a flight back to the UK with Qatar Aiways (which are daily), a great flight with 4 seats to myself on both parts of the trip, and Im facemask exempt, which was not an issue from my Condo to my place back in my home Country. The flight cost of 15k Bhat, NO coronavirus certificate requirement either... At immigration I received no exit stamp and was no required to submit the TR6 either... best immigration experience in 10+ years. Thailand before this shamdemic was going down the pan, now its really in major economic and growing political naughty corner... The arrogance has caught up... and as the PM said, ‘the lands will burn...’ probably will soon... and I think the colours of Liverpool will prevail. Nothing to see here(Thailand) temples elsewhere etc with English speakers... please jog on... Thailand, the Atlantis of the new millenium!
