Amazing Thailand: Massage parlours and spas to be used to quarantine foreign tourists

Daily News reported that Thailand's health authorities are pressing ahead with a plan to use massage and spa facilities to quarantine foreign tourists.

Dr Tharet Kratsanairawiwong of the health promotion department said the government had decided to open the country to foreigners again.

And a great way to quarantine them would be at Thailand's world renowned Thai massage and Thai spa facilities.

The industry is already looking into this and a pilot scheme could start in Krabi in the south of Thailand.

Discussions have already taken place subject to certain restrictions.

For example the places chosen would be away from high population densities.

He expected the scheme to be presented to the various authorities for their approval over the coming month with a decision from the CCSA central committee at the end of that.

What the hell Planet are we on here.  These guys make me laugh every time I read a ridiculous headline.  I think they are part of a traveling comedy troupe stuck here in a Government job.  Glad I already had my coffee as it would have been spewed over the computer when I read this article and OP.  You just can not make this stuff up on your own, these guys are true Insane Asylum inmates....sheesh

Just sent this to a friend who is an editor for a news paper in California.  Waiting to hear his response.

Viagra, sildenafil, Kamagra, they might help keep it up but it might be that your knees get a little wobbly, and that's what the massage is for....lol

Dont ask

I bet them guys locked up in some hotel in BKK wouldn't mind doing a swap for a few days

30,000 for 2 weeks, 1 free massage a day, little extra at the end.

80,000 for 2 weeks, VIP spa with shower and free 24h massage buffet.

fap fap hurray!!

If TAT posts a picture of a group of overweight expats lounging around in a 'fishbowl' on faux velvet sofas...I might have to gouge my eyes out.

I like a story with a "happy ending"  . . . .  ????

Thailand certainly living up to its moniker of "Amazing Thailand". Everyday there is some inane headline from a Govt. representative as to how they are going to boost tourism. Bunch of buffoons making Thailand look ignorant to the rest of the world with all their idiotic ideas. Put Homer Simpson in charge...

Is this the same Krabi that had only 2 hotels willing to welcome foreigners just last week?

TAT should change the moniker of "Amazing Thailand" to "Fantasy Thailand".

Phuket is only 3 hotels I think? Have you seen the price of them?

More like Groundhog Day, just a wake up, rinse, and repeat.

Good idea. Especially soapy massages will help to keep the virus at bay. It is simply not enough to wash only your hands.

Gets better everyday with these nonsensical schemes.
