  • This still doesn't say anything about NonImm O and NonImm OA visa or extension holders based on retirement.  To my mind, further evidence that retirees rank pretty low.

  • So basically if your Rich you can come in.

  • Showing baht 500000 in a bank account would not be considered as being rich.

"Non-immigrant visa holders, such as business people who do not have any type of work permit, are now allowed entry, but they must have savings of at least Bt500,000 in the past six months."

Does this include  "B" visa ?

Retirees will be allowed back into Thailand when mass international tourism to Thailand resumes.  A Non-O or Non-OA holder is nothing more than a long-stay tourist age 50 and older.  It makes no sense for Thailand to welcome retirees earlier since their demographic is very susceptible to Covid-19.

Business men and women are never over 50 years old, of course.......if they do not earn their first million before 40 they are euthanised.

Thai Embassy here said Non O retirement / OA visa will be granted a COE. A bank statement showing 500k, 14 day ASQ is as always, she also mentioned could use commercial flights if available a long with repatriation flights and said they will know more near end of this week.....

Having 500k is Rich??? ????

Hum... I think that even many "rich people" don't keep such an amount on their Saving Account. Many people keep biggest part of their available money on another type on account, usually one that give interest, but they are not accepted by some Thai Embassies. ;(

LOL, You are funny if you think people don't keep $15k usd in their bank acct!!!

Older people are more likely to die of Covid 19 than younger demographics but they are no more susceptible to catching it. In fact it is the younger demographic groups that are asymptomatic and therefore more likely to spread the virus without knowing. A small study in the UK showed almost a 33% of people who tested positive had no symptoms, making them very dangerous. This is why the virus has spread so widely.

Whoever comes in should get at least a 10 day quarantine and medical checks before they begin whatever including businessmen.

Why not just test at the airport?

No our government is protecting them from that nasty world out there or is it the other way around?

They gave George Pell permission to leave.

Imagine being an athlete in 14 days quarantine, muscles withering, depressed, and fed an unfamiliar diet. Sounds like a fun event to me. Who is crazy enough to sign up for this?

Why "business people" and why to always ask for money, money, money ????? (this is face mask)

Anyway, the 500.000 must stay on this (thai ?) account , they will not be able to spend it, as usual, or ?

Does it have to be in a thai bank ?

Does a portfollio of stocks count ? Life insurances, mutual funds ?

It seem like progress or they continue to grasp for straws? When done reading contact the Thai Embassy the restrictions are all still in place plus there is a long waiting list.

I think it’s the end of the poor farangs in the Land of Smiles.
Local beauties still echo “ I no believe. Govt baaaaaa!”

'The CCSA has agreed to allow sportspersons who will compete in a closed area'

Royal Cycling Marathon held in a closed area? There must be some other reason why it is being allowed.

Always about money!!! What about people married with families, it is high time that there is some semblance of order with regard to releasing data on who is allowed and who is not, at the moment people are unsure what the truth is, there should be One spokesperson who has the PM's authority to relate the true facts instead of all this uncertainty. IMO priority should be to unite families separated by this pandemic, followed by people who have the correct visa's/work permits in place and able to follow the strict entry rules. Then lets have a look at the others who wish to come here.

Do they mean 500.000 in a thai bank if so and you do not have a bank account here you cannot open one on a non imm visa or have they change the rules on that as well

I'm a cyclist and yes, this would destroy your chances in the race. 7 days off the bike is enough to set you back, let alone 14. It's not even worth considering this race if you're not already in Thailand. What a joke.

Just curious. What if you have 500k in the bank but it dropped below that amount for a couple months? Do you have to start over again on the 6 months or just top up and extend the count from that point?

Do people have to wear masks in Thailand these days?

I am not sure if it is a common rule for all of Thailand. I live in Lampang - in all of the Province had only two infections, no deaths over the entire period. As of today ALL large stores and Malls are refusing entry to non-mask wearers and everyone is measured for unusual high temperature -for the last seven months.

I am not inconvenienced enough to complain about it!

My guess is they want you to show you had close to the funds over time and didn't just borrow it from a friend or family member just to get back in ????????. They want you to be able to support yourself and not beg while your there.

Who wants to come to Thailand  now  after all this  corruption  shown  all over the  world

The  pollution  the dangerous  roads Only   the Chinese  want to come in any numbers  to Thailand

An the need to take money  money  money

All this Gov want is money  not tourists

And yes  to many people  500,000   baht  clear in a Thai  bank  is  rich

Pity   we all cant be rich  and wealthy  like  "Userabcd"

Many  class of people in the world  bro  hard to  believe but  only  20%   of the worlds population  is classed as  rich or wealthy

Some people  even  millions of them are actually poor

Some  people  make me sick

Good Luck Thailand

I don't think it's mandatory, but nearly all the people I see here in Hua-Hin both Thai's and foreigners are wearing masks.

Having US$ 15k in a bank is "rich" if planning an extended stay in a foreign country?
