I read lots of nonsense from Trump fanboys but this one almost made me laugh.

You could add: But if Covid wasn’t deadly as it is, we wouldn’t be looking at 200k dead.

Too bad none of it is the case but keep deflecting.

But Pence was spot on to point out the 2009 Obama/Biden swine flu debacle and if the swine flu were as deadly as Covid we'd be looking at 2M dead.  Yeah, we'll just conveniently forget about that one, right?  Care to talk about it, Chomper?

Why a debacle? Unlike in the covid-19 case, the response has been quite fast: health emergency, budget voted, tests available, etc...

The off-topic Sweden debate is over here... Move on...

Harris would not answer VP Pence's question about will you pack the Supreme Court?

Sounds like they will if given the chance.

Yes, why is she and Biden refusing to answer such a critical question?  Snake in the grass?

An unsourced quote supposedly from a Biden campaign advisor, which also misspells the person's name, has been removed.

Why does it matter.

Ah Yes! FOX News? What an excellent source of reliable and non partisan information. They have come up with more conspiracies than Breitbart.

On the topic of the Supreme Court though, I hardly think Republicans are in a position to throw stones.

Firstly, the court is supposed to be utterly impartial and above politics, but here it is getting stacked one side or the other, in itself a disgrace.

It is worse though that the precedent set four years ago of not electing judges in an election year, was immediately rescinded once the oportunity was there, despite the majority of the country disagreeing.

You want to see it stacked to the right and then moan at the suggestion, from a biased outlet, that the opposition want to level the field?

Such blatant hypocrisy can only be found amongst those who are too far gone politically to have any respectability left.

We need 9 SCOTUS justices.  That's all.

All she had to do was answer the question.  She didn't.

Watch the whole debate again, this time with eyes open.

Now now. Be fair. Pence didn't answer questions or ignored a number of topics too. Examples like Trump's health, ACA, peaceful transfer of power, Trump paying taxes.

Why only the need for 9.

It's the first time that I have heard Pence in a debate and I was impressed by him.

Trump supporters regurgitate Trump campaign talking points promoting conspiracy theory, fake news and alternative facts on a daily basis. No complaints out of you on that score.

As for 'debunked', let's do that Inigo Montoya quote again - 'You keep using that word. ... I do not think it means what you think it means.”

No idea which "we" you refer to. As far as I'm aware, there's nothing setting the number at 9. There's also no particular need to have an odd number of SC justices. The SC can go on just fine with 8 justices - wasn't an issue for Republicans during Obama's term.

Pence was a suitable place for a fly to land, but not a lot more than that if you discount all the tired lies and obfuscations that he borrowed from his boss, the great Orange super spreader.

Taking control?  Well, I guess, for you misogynists out there. Google it in case you're unsure.

Do robots drink beer? Asking for a friend....

Freedom versus fear.  A lot of people don't understand people who lack fear.  Generally a fearful person looks at a person without fear, can't understand why the person doesn't fear as they do, and because their fear is so real to them conclude that the fearless person must be crazy not to recognize their own fearful personal reality.  Who's the crazy one?  Everyone gets to decide for themselves.  I'm secure in my opinion.

Explain Sweden.

Fear of infecting others. Obviously doesn't bother you. Trump supporters, "me, me me, up yours".

Sweden? Its doing terribly. compare it with its neighbours.

It seems that I watched a different debate to many on here.  The one I watched saw neither candidate make any revelations. On the contrary it was all very tame stuff.  Pence said virtually nothing apart from shaking his head now and then and Harris, who had plenty of opportunities of exploiting the total screw up Trump has made over the the pandemic was strangely restrained.

On the news this morning the report of the debate showed the full two minutes that the fly sat on Pence's head but said little else about it.  I think that shows precisely just how pathetic the whole event turned out to be.

  • Popular Post

Agree, it was a non event and it really doesnt matter what a vp says or thinks.

Hmmm, on CNN last year K. Harris when asked said promptly that there was no question about it she is in favour of banning Fracking. On August 31 PC Biden said he was not banning Fracking but last year he said it would be eliminated. In the debate VPC K. Harris said that Joe Biden would not ban Fracking '...that is a fact.'  Lot of fracking confusion going on there it seems, Ha!

Same everywhere I fear.  In the UK none worse than Johnson saying one thing and the rest of his cabinet saying the opposite.  Same in France as well.  It's a case of the right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing.

That does not give you the God given right to infect me or others

trump will lose if no more debating

After the last debate Trump dropped in the polls so I am not sure that another debate would be a positive for him anyway.  It just highlights his lunacy.

Of course now he has been blessed by God, in being given a dose of Covid, who knows what miracle he will be performing next.

masks not obligatory because people value their freedom of choice/speech/actions or whatever.... same as safety belts and abortion ? Trumpists are quite contradictory with their choice of freedom

ordinarily that would be true, as the most important job of a vice president is to attend funerals in foreign countries.

these are not ordinary times.  trump is 74, suffering from covid19, and biden is 77.  in all likelihood, neither will survive a full term.

trump and biden are the contenders, but they are merely placeholders.  six months?  a year?  we'll have either president pence or harris.

It is curious..they keep on putting up geriatrics..as candidates

Presumably money talks and those with (comparitive) youth on their side..walk.
