Neeranam Posted October 15, 2020 Posted October 15, 2020 At hospital today, they charged me for my medication the full price and said the SS don't pay foreigners any more. They did say to take the receipt to the SS office to ask for a rebate. Has anyone else experienced this?
BritManToo Posted October 15, 2020 Posted October 15, 2020 Government hospital charges me 1bht/pill, not that expensive IMHO. (the pills are 4-5bht/pill in my local pharmacy) 1

Sheryl Posted October 15, 2020 Posted October 15, 2020 Not at all true and contrary to the Social Security Act whuch makes no distinctions based on nationality. To be clear - are you enrolled in SS through employment, or continuing to pay into it post employment?

I thought the same; they often just say foreigners can't get it if they can't be bothered to check something.
Sheryl Posted October 15, 2020 Posted October 15, 2020 Total nonsense. Call the SS office and complain. 1

blackcab Posted October 15, 2020 Posted October 15, 2020 @Neeranam Are you continuing to pay monthly to the Social Fund?

Yes, I quit my job 1 year ago and pay 432 baht a month. Gets taken out my bank automatically. I'm actually going to see them anyway when I become a Thai citizen soon. 1 1

(Can't be enrolled in both)
